ATTN: Please Read - very important
 

Hi. I just got home from Internext and although I don't like to start trouble, I feel like this post is really important. Yesterday at the closing party I had 3-4 drinks and within a couple hours I was pretty much passed out and out of my mind. I'm certain that someone slipped something in my drink, as 3-4 over a couple of hours would not do me in. I was extremely groggy and not myself at all - when I finally came to my senses many, many hours later I was shaking, sweating and completely dehydrated. This was not a case of too much alcohol, and it wasn't a hang over. Looking back, I even remember finding my drink moved to a spot where I didn't put it.

The reason I'm posting this here is because I don't remember most of the night and would like to apologize if I did anything wrong or caused any inconveniences to anyone. My boyfriend says he noticed in time and got me to the hotel before I really got bad. I'm not going to throw around "to whoever that did this to me..." threats because it's all said and done, but I think this info should be out there. I'm actually very cautious about this kind of stuff so I really can't believe it happened to me.

My boyfriend and I would also like to thank Josh or John from Metal Cash (it was a rough night so we apologize for not noting your name) that helped carry me around and took care of me in the hotel and the airport. I hardly remember it, but Andrew says you were more helpful than he could have imagined.

That's really all I have to say. It was a very sour ending to a great show, but I don't regret going and look forward to seeing all the great people I met again.

That sucks glad your alright but at those things do what rock stars do , if they put down a drink .They get a new one if they want more or never put it down.

You're absolutely right about that. I let my guard down and it was a huge mistake.

and Josh really is a great guy and I know for a fact he is always willing to help anyone out of any situation and I am proud to call him my friend

glad you had people there to help you... being drugged is not fun.

We didn't even talk to him all night and from what I'm told he helped right away. He insisted on going back to the hotel with us and sharing a cab to the airport as well. Without him, I don't think we would have made our flight at all.

People slipping K and other rape drugs (rape does happen in this business) is rather common. I have heard of at least 5 people in the last year that had something slipped to them.

I had a very similar experience in New Orleans, 2001. Someone who was with me got it worse that I did. As it was, I spent two days with painful muscles sickness, and a whoel bunch of other stuff... it literally took months for it to go away. I don't think it was aimed at me, probably just random bottle drops. But it sucks.

Way too many weird people in the world who get a kick out of it.

I went to this closing party at 3:00-4:00PM and I had to go to the airport at 9:30 - I really had no intentions of getting drunk as getting on the plane was much more important. From the way I felt and some of the symptoms afterwards, I am 100% certain it was something else.

I was fine for some time, just standing around and talking to people. After a while I got really groggy and started stumbling around so I thought I was drunk. All of a sudden, I was completely passed out and in a different world. I woke up extremely dehydrated, (probably too much information but I couldn't pee a drop for many hours), light headed, and shaking. I think I had a fever as well. I don't have much experience with drugs but from things I've heard it seemed like it was ecstacy or something like that. I also remember before I got too bad, I was hugging people a lot... not really my personality to do that too often.

Don't think XTC would let ya pass out that quick, the effect would also last very long. I was thinking of GHB.

Ah you couldn't pee, that could be XTC indeed. Don't know if GHB does that.

Make sure to drink lots of water and eat a lot of fruit. If you don't feel like eating (which is mostly after X) just try to eat some bread. This will make you feel a lot better.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't been hungry at all but I've been forcing the food down anyway. This has been a learning experience, to say the least.

I saw it happen to a drink that was from a lady as well. (of course I removed the drink)

And as far as "happen in this industry" It happens everywhere. Maybe not on your LAN parties, but in many bars/disco's they warn you for this...
