I know how to convert. I see too many designs that are super pretty but will never convert. Instead of having to micromanage the whole design I'm trying to find a designer who understands what needs to be done and does it.

Every designer will tell you that they know how to build sites that convert. Its up to you to go through the portfolio and choose one that has a style you like and that you feel will suit your marketing approach. And also find out the clients they have done designs for, and ask for yourself if their past designs are converting... that will give you an honest answer.

Yep, been around that road many times. This time I wanted to avoid having every so-called "designer" on the web hitting me up with their portfolios.

Not true. You'd be surprised how many sponsors/paysite owners are amateurs and look for someone that doesn't need his hands held, but rather have a drive of his own and provide experience and quality to a paysite design.
