Anyone Here Ever Involved In A Natural Disaster?

Approximately 2 years ago I was sitting in my apartment on what was a sunny afternoon when in about 30 minutes time the sky went from blue to this weird shade of green...unknown to me this was coming up my back side.

That's an actual picture off of the Bank One building in Fort Worth Texas as the tornado was just about to make contact with my building.
I lived on the 4th floor of a 10 story apartment building downtown Fort Worth and took a direct hit.

I had to run and take cover in the stairwells in the middle of the building.

Needless to say I ended up on family's couch for 5 months waiting to move back in....lost a lot of stuff...but me and my dog made it out alive :)

I've been through tornados a few times...a number of earthquakes (nothing too serious)..but this was the first time I was ever considered a disaster victim ;)

Everytime I step there's a small earthquake, does that count?

I was working on Revithoussa, an island off the Greek coast, about 2 years ago when the earthquakes were happening.
Standing on the Greek tin-pole scaffolding while an earthquake is going on is fuckin scary!

I used to live 20 yards from the seafront in a hurricane area, I didn't lost my home, but I had to evacuate every year for a week or two, not nice...

Storm King Mountain.

No not the fire that sadly took the lived of 14 fire fighters but two months later in Sept. I was driving to work along I70 and it started raining very hard and within a few minutes it created a massive mud slide that pushed several cars into the river blocked a 2 mile strecth of I70 and almost dammed up the Colorado River
(poor Cali would have run out or water :1orglaugh )

I beat it by about 30 seconds or less. I am very thankful

Luckily, i've never been in anything bad enough to be considered a disaster..

i love strong winds and stuff.. but i don't think i'd like "disaster" strength winds. EEEEP!

TGF was over my house, and he single handedly caused a natural distaster area in my bathroom =-/

Ever see The Perfect Storm?? Well I was in a Great Lakes version on Lake Michigan. Shit came out of nowhere and before we knew it it hit. Scary shit! :(

I shit my pants once.

As a native Californian I have experienced many earthquakes, but luckily nothing ever even broke at my house. House has a few cracks of course, but that just comes with the territory.

Was stranded in the great flood of January 1982. Was stuck in a 28' Airstream trailer in the middle of a lake. Two guys, two chicks and a bremmel bulldog.

Got one girl pregnant, the mother of my daughter. Was the only time that the Golden Gate Bridge was ever closed.

You should have insurance when I'm around.
