When I lived in CA, the best DELIVERED Pizza I had the pleasure of enjoying--Papa John's. Pizza Loca is decent as well... if you're feeling a lil adventurous.

i like to mix it up. i'll find a pizza place I like, eat there until I'm sick of it then find a new one.

ex: I liked Pizza Hut, switched to Dominos, now I'm like the Spicy Perogi pizza at Boston Pizza (only drawback is it's very expensive)

But there was an incredible Chicago-style pizza delivery joint in a tiny toilet called Harvard, IL about 17 or 18 years ago that blew any other pizza on the planet away. Their Chicago-stuffed pizza could not be beat!

CPK Reuben Pastrami definitely kicks ass.

Papa John's is the only chain in the UK that is anywhere near decent pizza and they aren't available most places. Still nothing like proper mom and pop pizza though.

Hate to say "it depends", but it seriously does with pizza and food in general.. Sure each "chain" has a recipe they follow, but especially with dough it could be fucked up just by having too much or too little humidity or temperature.

Having said that, my local Dominoes does an awesome job with their store and the ones I get delivered from them are always super good.

My local pizza hut sucks, the dough is always tough and just tears like cardboard or something, and pools of orange grease is all over it. blech..

I delivered for Domino's my first year of college but after trying Papa John's I'll never go back!

I would have to say PJ's as well. At least for delivered.

When I was in college you could get a large from papa john's for only $5.99. We ate pizza every fucking day. :1orglaugh

I'm a big fan on Papa John's w/ Jalapeño.....and you gotta love the garlic/butter dipping sauce. :eatmouse

There's also something about Domino's Thin crust Pepperoni that keeps me coming back :eatmouse

I love my local pizza joint, Uncle Fatih's (Fatty's) on Broadway and Commercial. They make the crispest thin crust pizza loaded with lots of yummy fresh toppings for super cheap and are super-fast with delivery! Arguably the BEST pizza place in Vancouver! Their slices are even better!

There are some local places that kill the chains but if it was to be a chain probably papa johns or dominos.

We have Yellow Cab and Dominos (they're dying here though). I was asking based on brands I've experienced while I lived in California.

Interesting thing about Pizza is that it is very localized. Filipinos tend to like their pizza on the sweet side so the most successful local pizza chains here tend to have 'sweet' pizzas--see Greenwich pizza. Good stuff!

Round Table Pizza has some pretty grubbin gourmet pizzas that we like to eat, otherwise a little joint in Redmond called Frankie's or Pizza Slut.

Agreed, for the most part. But then again, there are alot of small shops that suck as well. They just don't taste as "fake".

Any Blondie's Pizza fans here? When I lived in Berkeley, I LIVED OFF THIS stuff. Dirt cheap per slice and the Industrial Cheese emits enough enzymes and heavy metals to power you for days LOL
