don't buy a FSC laptop. I own one and my buddy owns the same one (FSC Amilo 1450)
After 6 months both now have:
- several cracks in the case at exactly the same position (I read up on it in forums and it's a very common problem)
- they eat the dusk ... all the fans seem to be full now and the thing is like twice as load as before
- the little rubber feet it has at the bottom all came off now

I wouldn't ever buy a laptop from FSC again.

Thanks for the input, they are valuable, after reading on Google some forums on problems, maybe Fujistsu-Siemens is not the best choice, I'm thinking now of an IBM ThinkPad T42 - 2373ZFV or SONY VAIO FS315E , any more opinions on any of these 4 notebooks/laptops? :)

The best laptop I've ever had the pleasure of owning is my Gateway MX7515.

chupachups 01-04-2006 03:11 AM

Whatever you do, do NOT buy any ACER - they are complete crap!

Cash 01-04-2006 12:29 PM

Thanks for the info, I'll think about a HP, or Sony Vaio, or IBM :)

I am really liking my Fujitsu....and I would recommend XP Pro vs. Home...

I put two gigs of ram into mine and it hums. Sweet machine.

Bigfuck 01-04-2006 01:15 PM

Get a Gateway

venus 01-04-2006 01:45 PM

toss another good one in for you.
I have the HP zd8205us, 17in wide screen, pentium4, bigger and heavier then most laptops but its a great desktop replacement which is what I needed, a mobil desktop.

great price on a powerful laptop... if you need something small and light, this is not the one.

WOW... insanely great deal!

ajrocks 01-04-2006 03:15 PM

I wouldn't touch either of those. Stick to Dell or HP Pavillions they are the best and work for ever!

venus 01-04-2006 04:32 PM

ya it is, for the money its the best I found, I considered another Dell (I have 3 dell desktops) and a Vaio (they have good commericials) but after research I got more for my money with the HP, so far no problems, its a great laptop... but heavy... but I guess it has to be for what your getting.

I have that. It is great, because I really am not on the go all the time.

But it is very heavy, bulky.

If you watch a DVD, the battery will last only ONE hour !!!

I just picked up brand new batteries on Ebay for $ 45.00 each... I will need them, mainly as the original one starts loosing it's lenght ot power time...

I love my ACER. :)

pornguy 01-04-2006 06:26 PM

I would sugguest that you do NOT buy a first run product. They have bugs in the designs that have not yet been discovered. B uy something that has been on the market a few months.

justsexxx 01-04-2006 06:35 PM

Don;t go for ACER, they are really crappy. Also FS, well you know the stories.

I would stick to

IBM
DELL
COMPAQ/HP
TOSHIBA(I love these)

Mikey_219Inc 01-04-2006 06:50 PM
