Less people have died in office shootings, etc that got more coverage. If it turns out to be a story of violations of safety laws, etc it is indeed a story. Situations like this happen nearly every week in China and they barely get reported. I think when working conditions are shown to be on level with China then it is worth covering regardless of the colour of the people involved.

Anyway..baby Jessica, the russian subs,the last mine trapping, etc show that people stuck in places essentially waiting to die is a story of great human interest. Therefore, it gets covered.

While it may have been a little insensitive on Juicy's part (at the least a bit of bad timing)...but I have to agree with his point.

Networks are far too eager these days to make a mini-series out of events that don't always merit the glut of coverage they give it. Its not just one network...many of them do it.

Sure the mining accident was tragic and had a human interest element, but c'mon. The networks appear like vultures on the scene, sniffing blood and reveling in the drama of the moment.

But in the end, the story impacts a relatively small number of people...not an entire state or nation.

People create news out of whatever they think they can. You do it, I do it, and reporters do it. Its all one in the same. Why complain about it? Either soak it in or don't.

Actually, I have been turned away for healthcare for a couple different reasons.
1 time, I cut my hand, had to have 14 stitches, but ER wouldn't help me cause they didn't take my health insurance (Humana) Had to end up going to a clinic 30 minutes away bleeding all over a cab.

2. In FLA I had an alergic reaction to something, swelled up something awful, again turned away by 1 ER cause at that time didn't have healthcare and didn't have a major credit card to cover costs (wanted me to pay up front for service) Ended up going to 3 ERS before they finally admitted me and pumped me full of 3000 CC of benadril and ended up spending 3 nights in hospital. Cost over 6k and believe me I had to pay it out of pocket.

In USA if your at a middleclass income, one that can't afford to pay out 250-500 (My mother pays out over 750) a month for insurance your pretty much fucked. You don't qualify for any type of aid so you pay everything out of pocket. My insurance right now runs about 500 bucks a month for my wife and I and thats with a 2000 deductiable. You don't pay then they sue you and try and take your house and everything else you own, plus totally fuck your credit. It's insane.

So, show me this LAW where any idiots gets free health care in the US?

Juicy is so right! This miner story has been around for a full day or two in the news and everyone is sick of hearing people complain about dead people. Juicy has far greater things to worry about, like if he should get a double whopper or a triple whopper for lunch.

Come on Juicy, don't let this news story stop you from helping all of those people across our great nation that you are so worried about. Please do all of those great things you normally do for all of those poor people suffering in the United States - you selfish, drug addicted, alcoholic fuck.
