Signs You Are A Good Tipper
 

You actually look at me when I am telling you the specials; you might even smile.
You don?t answer a hello from your server by yelling, ?Two coffees!?
You say please and thank you.
You don?t make faces as you are being told the specials, even if you hear a dish you don?t like.
You don?t order water with lemon.
Your free-refill soda lasts more than 2 seconds.
You check to see if your dining partner is ready before you belt out your order.
You don?t slap your kids in public.
You don't immediately demand to see the cheapest thing on the menu.
You answer questions with actual words rather than grunts.
You start your requests with ?May I please have...? rather than ?Get me? or ?I need.?

Hmm.

I do all of those things. More and more I realize how polite I really am. I don't get it.

I usually buy my waiters shot's right away. That's sets things straight for the rest of evening. :thumbsup

It all pretty much makes sense. I tend to tip well and I follow those lines of behavior...

I tip depending on how good the service is. They are waiters and waitresses.
I went to a sushi bar the other night.
It took me 45 min to get a seat, which isnt that unusual. But when i was seated i wasnt given a menu and no one came to ask for my drink or order for 30 minutes and i had to get up and go call someone myself.

It's really easy, do your job. Get tipped.

what sucks down here, is tips are included in the price, so no matter what, you are paying this B.S tip.. What happens when people are guaranteed a tip? they dont give a fuck and the service is very shitty.

we're good tippers and we match up pretty well with that list. :)

Tips down here are usually only included with parties of 6 or more.

I am usually a pretty good tipper (sometimes even if the service is bad). I waited tables and bartended to get through school so I've been in them trenches.

P.S. I have spent a lot of time on that website! It's pretty funny. I'm reading the bad/good celebrity tippers.

I don't eat at restaurants much because I tip too well. It's like throwing money out the window. If I didn't tip I would feel guilty. It shouldn't be that way.

im always a good tipper unless the service really sucks. i do everything on there except i always get water, just because i dont drink anything else with my meals.

I don't usually tip, it wouldn't make much sense since i usually say i'm going for a smoke and hop on my bicycle and take off without paying

Really that is how it works in Miami? I thought it only worked that way in the Bahammas?

it works great at the bar. tip the most and you dont wait when the bar is super crowded. if you drink mixed drinks they will hook you up too. my time is worth a lot of money to me, so by tipping a lot at the bar i consider not having to stand there for 10 minutes well worth it.

I also believe in being a good tipper, but I have been burned by the "tip included" situaiton where they do that for big groups (is it fair to call 6 a big group??) and put it in smal print on the back side of the check.

I completely agree with you Beemk, if I am at a open bar or any crowded bar for instance. I will drop a $20 tip to the bartender on my first drink and make sure the bartender sees me drop it.

That way I will get taken care of every single time no matter how many people are infront of me. I figure it's great because I am going to easily tip $20 over the course of the night to the bartender anyways I might as well do it all at once and get super service :)

Just b/c it didn't come back to you yet doesn't mean it won't come back to you in another way...there's no tiem limit on these things...

I'm speaking in that I'm a bartender at night and when I go out, I take care of my fellow bartenders especially if they're good to me. When they come to visit me, I return the service. It works both ways. What goes aroudn comes around.

When my regulars come in to my bar I take care of them. They don't wait for drinks and I make them look good in front of their clients. Having clout or looking like a shooter goes a long way in the financial world where I work. :thumbsup
