Yeah, there is medication for it. Not that anyone wants to be popin pills just to go to sleep. Plus a lot of the you are only supposed to take for a period of time. A few weeks or something like that.
I used to have the same problem where I couldn't sleep at night. But through a change of diet, keeping a regular sleep schedule, and doing the same nightly routine I managed (over time) to be able to go to sleep regularly now.
It took time to learn to clear my mind. Remember that things I need to do tomorrow I can't do at 3 a.m., and then just following the same nightly routine would get my mind and body in a habit of shutting down.
