Chargeback on a software purchase possible?
I want to do a chargeback on some software that i bought. Thing was that it was not working and full of bugs. The processor was 2checkout. their terms and service said no refunds, but i figure they didnt deliver me a working product.
thoughts? |
You mean the maker of the software said no refunds possible?
|
did you read the t.o.s.
|
Call the processor, tell them you are going to chargeback, chances are they will refund you. If not, call your bank, say you didn't make those charges.
Pretty much how most member chargebacks work. |

Hell, you can chargeback a used condom if you want. Chargebacks are pretty much unlimited now a days.
|
Of course you can. If something is buggy and doesn't work why do you think you would have to pay for it? Try contacting them first...
|
so what software was it?
|
if you used amx its simple anything amx thats not shipped example would be software is a simple chargeback nothing 2checkout can do about it.
|
you can charge back just about anything, but probably best to work it out with the seller...

HOWEVER - here is the good part - if what the T.O.S says is in conflict with your rights in your state, THEIR state, the processors state or in the customer service chicks head - you win! Like someone said, Call their customer service and state your case. I myself prefer emaling as this is 100 percent documented communication and time stamped. But at first contact, I guess you could call; making the assumption you will be treated as an honest person making a legite complaint . If it doesnt go your way on that call, then continue the process thru emails only. It will be VERY beneficial to you if you can site (or cut n paste) from a specific URL and specific portion of text where what the SALES PAGES promised verses what you experienced AFTER THE SALE. This is especially helpful where the full version of the software was not available for a trial run. And thus you made the REASONIBLE assumption that the SALES PAGES were truthful, but upon payment and then subsequent receiving of the product, found that the sales pages LIED about the state of the software. The TOS means sh!t put up against that line of arguement :thumbsup good luck |
You have 6 months to do the chargeback and any TOS some third party processor has
is 99.99% useless to Visa/MC. |
how much was the purchase?
anything under 200 you should just write off ... chargebacks will only ban you from 2checkout and their partners and they do partake in visaverified so you'll only be fucking yourself up |
