Embedded flash video trailers in tours
 

We decided to bring something unique with our new Hundies.com site PigtailsRoundAsses.com by embedding high quality flash video trailers right into the tour. We are already seeing great results from the tour, but wanted to get webmaster's feedback. Are the trailers playing correctly on your computers? Anyone having problems? Do you think we should also offer a button to click to play the trailer in wmv?

its pretty smooth but i had to install the flash 8 which may be a negative.

Also, if my eye doesn't fail me, I think I know who designed the tour. Very nice tour!

I think the embedded flash is cool and all that, but I tend to believe that anything that can piss a surfer off, take too long to load or can possibly cause their browser to crash (flash often crashes my system), is a bad thing for sales. I'm of the mind that we need to treat them with kid gloves and coax them to whip out the credit card... Case in point, another sponsor stuck auto playing videos on their new tours, my sales dropped.. I changed my linking to the old tour and sales went back up..

Embedding the video is very slick, I don't know if delivery is as good on slower connections, but I have broadband in .au and its almost instantaneous for me after i click. I think its a great way to keep the viewers attention on the page, not opening new browser windows / external viewers. Good work on trying something new; hope it works out for ya :thumbsup

Looks good, but not play 100% smooth, maybe its because the connection, I'm on ADSL in Asia.

Thanks for the input guys. All being noted and looked into. And of course would appreciate any more experiences with it.

I did this on a few of my BYOTs and it seems to work out well.

I personally wouldn't recommend using flash movies on your tour.

I'm also considering putting a link on each girl's scene to launch her wmv trailer if the surfer isn't liking the flash for whatever reason. any particularly bad experiences youve had using flash video?

Worked fine for me, it did seem to skip a little bit at the start, but I think that may have been how it was cut? The speaking parts were fine though.

I'm on a pretty standard patched xp laptop over cable.

I suggest you hire me to do your trailers from now on :)
