Best classy restaurant in Vegas?

Since many of you guys have been to Vegas several times, care to share which are the best classy restaurants there? The wife and I are coming in Feb/March and will definitely take you up on your recommendations.

The NEW Vegas is definitely classier than the Vegas of yesteryear. Of course, there's still a certain allure of Vegas during the Rat Pack years in the 60's

if you didn't make your reservation 2 months ago - forget about it. Mcdonalds is about your only option and there will be a HUGE line there

Minte 12-28-2005 04:27 PM

Picasso @ Bellagio would be in the top 5..

One place I have never been and would love to try.

I like The Palm and Delmonico, the sushi place at the Venetian and the little restaurant that has a name that's a number there at Mandalay Bay. But there much "classier" places than those - I just really like their food :)

Far from true. Look away from the strip and this town has plenty of class.

For on strip locations, Try Picasso at Bellagio, Tao at the Venetian, Nobu at the Hard Rock, or pretty much anything at Wynn. If you look offstrip, than there are many options that aren't too far away.

vegas.com has a nice breakdown if you are interested. :)

Bluewire Ross 12-28-2005 04:38 PM

3. Hard Rock Cafe

Asian Restaurant

1. P.F. Chang?s China Bistro

Another really good place to have dinner is at the Eifel Tower restaurant at Paris.I ate there when it first opened and it was fabulous. The views from there are some of the best on the strip.Pricey, but worth it.

Thanks for pointing that out to ole SD. It's all good though. I'm looking for a nice set of restaurants to take the wife to. Thanks for the Palm recommendation, I'll definitely check it out.

Ruth's Chris is pretty good.

Nora's (off the strip) is the best Italian I have found in Vegas.

Morton's is good too.

Yes..it's about halfway up the tower. The way they positioned things in the restaurant there isn't a bad view from any table.

Awesome - thanks for the info - will try to head up there in a couple of weeks :)

I love the voodoo lounge at the rio. Its up on like the 45th floor and very classy. Get a VIP couch afterwards out on the balcony and drink a little. You'll love it and your date will love it even more. If you go there make sure you order "The Witch Doctor" Drink. :thumbsup

nastyboy1 12-28-2005 08:46 PM

B4 adult I worked in biotech and had to spend about 10 days a month in Vegas for over 6 years...there are a lot of fantastic restaurants with great atmospheres..the problem is they all start to feel and sometimes taste the same.

If you want to try something elegant, old school ( currently the oldest existing steak house in vegas) and amazing go to the Rosewood Grill... you'll swear Sinatra or Gambino will be walking through the door any minute...

Doc, thanks for the awesome list. What dishes do you recommend per venue?

cool1g 12-28-2005 09:57 PM

Joël Robuchon at the Mansion

this is not even open to debate. best restaurant in Vegas and quite possibly the US.

Good call. It gets VERY RAVE reviews. Here's a typical review of Robuchon at the Mansion http://www.latimes.com/features/food...home-headlines

DutchTeenCash 12-29-2005 02:46 AM

just wondering since Ive never been there : whats there to do in Vegas?

I mean gamble obviously, but is it a place youd go to for a week or so or does that mean just eating and gambling?

fris 12-29-2005 02:48 AM

OMG. I'm pretty sure I just had an orgasm reading that....

Hell House Vic 12-29-2005 08:25 AM

I forget the name... but...

In the Venitian... go to the mock paizza, ya know, where the mime-lookin guy sells fake gellato. there is a restaurant almost directly in front of you when you enter (with the bridge (fake) on your left) - it's upstairs. It's a classy italian restaurant that'll impress whomever it is you want to impress.

grumpy 12-29-2005 09:49 AM

is there any restaurant in vegas with a michelin star??

Jennyfer 12-29-2005 01:23 PM

Chef Robuchon (of Robuchon at the Mansion) had 3 michelin stars with his restaurants in France. Apparently, many demigod members of France's culinary pantheon are making their way to Vegas. Check out the LA Times article link above.
