redirecting pages?

I just changed one of my sites & all the pages are indexed, so, If I redirect the old pages to the index page, does google penalize for this, or should I just put up a page saying the page you are looking for has moved, please click here.

I have two domains that redirect to the sponsor that just got listed on google. Now I'm getting around 50 clicks a day for nothing! Hahaha!
