Photoshop. Look at his right hand, I doubt if he was that far off his bike he'd still be holding the exact same angle of the throttle. More likely he'd be flailing around and screaming.

Dan Pastor was at Castillo ranch (near santa barbera) and was 5th gear wide open and over shot a 200ft jump....if it is not the worst crash you have ever seen I will be shocked... he had to bne life flighted out and he was there for the photo shoot (what you see above)... no teeth...pins, screws, organs removed...

and still hitting it 5th gear pinned

The reality is my response had less to do with if it is a photoshop and more to do with your colorful additions to your opinion on the authenticity of the photo.

WEll then please allow me to retort....

First off the position has to held in a the samer position required to make sure you have your arms positioned to take hold of the bike as you are mounting on in mid air if you see the other example of the box cover the guys hands are locked iin the position as if they were still holding on

This is for two reasons actually

1. see above

2. the amount of time a rider is off the bike is maybe a full two seconds so a good photographer can capture when the rider has poorly timed his release and will end up bringing his arms down in the position in which he is required to safely grab the bike, thus in the photo can give the appearance as if he has a firm grip of nothing but air....

when scanning the galleries today I saw this and posted with little or no regard of the authenticity

to digress...
