Metatags are so 2004. :winkwink:

Google hasn't used Meta tags in quite some time and I don't believe Yahoo has either. Any SEOer worth his/her weight can tell you this.

Cool tool though.

After Infoseek (Go.com) closed in 2000, the meta keywords tag was left with only two major supporters: AltaVista and Inktomi. Now Inktomi remains the only one, with AltaVista having dropped its support in July, the company says.

"In the past we have indexed the meta keywords tag but have found that the high incidence of keyword repetition and spam made it an unreliable indication of site content and quality. We do continue to look at this issue, and may re-include them if the perceived quality improves over time," said Jon Glick, AltaVista's director of internet search.

Does it really take so long to just view the sourcecode and cut and paste them?

We need a program for this??

Marshal 12-26-2005 10:00 PM

you still use meta tags?! :D
what for?! google uses them to penalize you... :pimp

bdld 12-26-2005 10:33 PM

right click, view source, should be near the top of the page. :)

wallst 12-26-2005 10:43 PM

Are you sure and if so why? I can't imagine that Google would penalize for having Meta Tags. What would be their reason for this?

Now, if you have 3000 tags that do not relate to your ontent I can see how that might be worth penalizing, but just to penalize for simply having tags...???

WiredGuy 12-28-2005 08:32 PM

Meta tags rock, I put GooglePriorityID's in there!
