Spam me with...

good Plasma/LCD TVs... i want big, at least 42"

the reason i ask, i've noticed so many "unknown" brands when shopping for this type of TV... it's like these names all appeared out of nowhere

so what brand and size do you own? are you happy with it? what would you buy now instead?

any help is appreciated... i need to do some year-end spending so it falls under this fiscal year :)

cool, thanks... anyone else?

btw, do you have that one?

Raven 12-26-2005 10:13 PM

Easton, we researched them all...the one we loved is the Fujitsu....but we didn't buy it because we decided not to spend 10G on a plasma...

We ended up with a 50" Vizio; and, while I know there are better ones, such as the Sony and the Pioneer Elite, I just didn't think the return on investment was worth the little bit of extra quality.

my panasonic crapped out on my and was supposedly one of the best

Go with a DLP, similar quality picture as a plasma at half the price. Do your research at avsforum.com and shop from pricegrabber.com. I just purchased a 52' dlp off the web and it was $500 cheaper than the lowest offline store and no sales tax.

Easton mate.

I have been sitting firmly on my ass here at Raven's for a week right in front of the bloody thing.

From an now expert perspective, I can tell you, it is the shit.

Look forward to seeing you and Sherie in Vegas. Been altogether too long.

:thumbsup

Easton, my friend. Lindsay shits you not. He has had the remote firmly in his hand, his arse hasn't left the couch...and he's lovin' the plasma.

Living testimony to the Vizio....LOL

Easton 12-26-2005 10:32 PM

ok that sounds very tempting so far :)

thanks you two!

Easton 12-26-2005 10:37 PM

Raven you don't find the fans noisy? that seems to be the major complaint from what i can tell... but for $2499 it's a deal for sure

shermo 12-26-2005 10:41 PM

Duke Dollars has free hosted galleries, quality content, free gallery hos....

Oh.. Nevermind.. This isn't a "spam me sponsers" thread. Oh well! Happy Holidays bro! As far as the plasma/lcd's, I can't help much. I have a 62 inch HDTV projection in my loft, a 26 inch lcd in my bedroom and a 32 lcd downstairs. I rarely use the LCD's.

He he he he

I dunno about the long term buddy, but I've also had the home theatre system cranked so I haven't heard a bloody thing.

This is a very quiet television, Easton...at least, so far...the reason I felt comfortable buying Vizio is because I first saw them at my gym almost a year ago and they are as good today as they were when they are new.

We have our stereo system hooked up and it's a Denon and M&K speaker set up....no fan noise at all....

Ya know..here's how I looked at it. Costco has a six month return policy.
That will give us enough time to evaluate it.

Raven 12-26-2005 10:54 PM

Oh yeah. I must say, also, that Lindsay certainly has put this tv through its paces.

Agreed, Dlp all the way, larger, cheaper and they have a longer shelf life :)

Easton 12-26-2005 10:56 PM
