How would your dad react if you brought home a black girl?
 

I'm white and mean no disrespect to anyone with this post but this issue has recently come up and I wanted to know how the rest of the world feels.

I'm modern enough to accept cross race relations but my father would chuck an absolute fit.

It's not only for blacks but for asians, indians, mediteranians, eskimos and latinas too.

Most families, or rather most members of any family, regardless of race, will at least silently object to an interracial relationship.

I will say this though - my ex-girlfriend's family (black), was far more tolerant of our relationship than was my family (white). Some of her family gave us shit at first, but once they realized who / what I was, things were pretty cool. I am actually still good friends with her, her brother and a few of cousins. Now my family never said anything to me, outloud anyway, but there is a feeling you just get when you know people are displeased.

There are two forms of racism - 1) the blatant outspoken type, which can be easily dismissed as ignorance or cleared up after some getting-to-know-you and 2) the quiet stab them in the back type, which if far more damaging.

a very sensitive issue...that should have been long resolve...it's sad that this thing still exist!

I grew up in a Russian/Jewish household and a Russian Jewish boy is exactly what my parents want for me and my sister. I've been with my American WASP for about four years now and they tolerate him pretty well. Conversely, my sister has only dated Russian Jews and they couldn't stand a single one.

Bringing home a black man would be bad enough, but bringing home a black girl would get me killed!

I am Filipino-American. When I brought home my white girlfriend back in high school, my extremely conservative Filipino parents booted me out of the house. It was quite a jarring experience.... to say the least. My parents were very much anti-interracial dating.

I'd be a bit more concermed if good old dad 'came back to life' myself

My parents are cool people. They'd accept anyone I'd bring home.

well since none of my family are red neck bumkins assholes. They wouldn't give too shits. If im happy they're happy.

He certainly wouldn't see any problems with it ... ;) He'd joke arround but thoses would just be what they are, jokes.

Probably make a bunch of jokes and look at her ass every time she turned around. My grandfather on the other hand would flip his lid. He's an 89 year old from MD.

My dad would probably kick me out and will no longer treat me as part of the family. :(

my entire family would not object. my dad would not care about the race of the girl I would bring home.

If its a nice girl I dont think its a problem.
