How Long Do You Have To Be Employed To receive Unemployment?
I heard there was a minumum of six months..is that true?
How many months do you get to collect it before they shut it off?
Do you know what % the payout is?

Varies by state

Big Red Machine 12-26-2005 03:55 PM

I don't think all the states are the same. NJ I believe is 6 mos and you build up an unemployment account while you are working. I think it last for upto 6 mos and now theres alot of job training programs. % wise not sure

lol funny stuff guys

in Massachusetts its 3 weeks. And you recieve back pay on those 3 weeks. You also get a budget in the very begining..usually 6 months worth of 50% of your weekly income. find a job asap or kick up your web game..IMO its not worth it....but then again it depends on what kind of situation the person is in.

Does anyone know the regulations for California?

tony286 12-26-2005 05:33 PM

6 months and depends on the state

Papi Chulo 12-26-2005 05:37 PM

6 months in NY, and they can contest it.

In other words, if you were a fuck up (taking too many days off, incompetant, a general fuck up) your unemployment will be denied!.

But then again, employers don't want a lawsuit...... so are you a minority? female? Gay? Shit like that will guarantee you unemployment.

reynold 12-26-2005 06:37 PM

Spunky 12-26-2005 07:00 PM

6 months to be eligible

reed_4 12-27-2005 12:50 AM

6 months would be the average span of time.
