Google is afraid of the ACLU and other left wing nuts
Last year I clearly remember a Christmas and Hanukkah themed logo. This year they went with a safe mouse and a "Happy Holidays". Even the alternate logo they let you choose from has nothing to do with the two major holidays of the season.
I don't even like Christmas and I find this so fucking sad. |

Is Google afraid of the Aclu or is Google just recognizing that America has become one big melting pot?.
Look at http://www.aclu.org where does it mention anything of what your saying?. I believe this "War On Christmas" has been fake from the begining made up by reich-wing christian fanatics. |

I wish people could agree whether we are living in a country dictated to by right-wing religious lunatics or one that is run by left-wing liberal nuts. It gets very confusing when both ends of the political spectrum take turns claiming that the other is behind every perceived evil, particularly on those occasions that both sides blame the other for the same thing.
But maybe while we are having such a reasoned debate, someone could tell me when "liberals" moved away from the center or became anti-religious? Has anyone told the KKK that the ACLU is a left-wing organisation and when exactly did defense of the constitution become the sole province of the left? Come to that, if Republicans are right-wing and Democrats left (another shift I guess I must have missed) and right and left are all nuts, loonies, fanatics or whatever, is anyone normal any more? Who do they vote for? |

How The ACLU Didn't Steal Christmas (12/7/2005) By Fran Quigley Fran Quigley, Executive Director, Indiana Civil Liberties Union When the angry phone calls and emails started arriving at the office, I knew the holiday season was upon us. A typical message shouted that we at the American Civil Liberties Union are "horrible" and "we should be ashamed of ourselves," and then concluded with an incongruous and agitated "Merry Christmas." We get this type of correspondence a lot, mostly in reaction to a well-organized attempt by extremist groups to demonize the ACLU, crush religious diversity, and make a few bucks in the process. Sadly, this self-interested effort is being promoted in the guise of defending Christmas. For example, the Alliance Defense Fund celebrates the season with an "It's OK to say Merry Christmas" campaign, implying that the ACLU has challenged such holiday greetings. (As part of the effort, you can get a pamphlet and two Christmas pins for $29.) The website WorldNetDaily touts a book claiming "a thorough and virulent anti-Christmas campaign is being waged today by liberal activists and ACLU fanatics." The site's magazine has suggested there will be ACLU efforts to remove "In God We Trust" from U.S. currency, fire military chaplains, and expunge all references to God in America's founding documents. (Learn more for just $19.95 . . . ) Of course, there is no "Merry Christmas" lawsuit, nor is there any ACLU litigation about U.S. currency, military chaplains, etc. But the facts are not important to these groups, because their real message is this: By protecting the freedom of Muslims, Jews, and other non-Christians through preventing government entanglement with religion, the ACLU is somehow infringing on the rights of those with majority religious beliefs. http://www.aclu.org/religion/gen/223...as%20christmas Ok this is just about the seperation and church and state. |
You are a fucking idiot if you think Google is doing this shit for any reason that involves them being scared of some lawsuit.

the ACLU is nothing but greedy wackos. they use their army of attorneys, pro bono, to go after mostly worthless causes and then sue for legal fees. why did they get $950k for legal fees from san diego when the lawyers were working for free? who got that money? its sad that so many defend and support them because they defend a specific thing that may affect them personally and ignore the majority of the bullshit they pursue.
