Important Update Regarding VISA Lolita, Peda, Preteen Rule

VISA has communicated to their Acquiring Banks today that they are extending this rule to prohibit settling transactions for content which is considered to be 'child erotica'.

VISA considers child erotica to be 'suggested' child pornography and they are now including this type of content in their prohibition.

Merchants are no longer allowed to settle transactions for any sites (commonly referred to as lolita sites), which have images of unclothed boys or girls under the age of 18. The penalty for settling transactions with this type of content (as well as Bestiality) is termination from the VISA program.

Thumbs up to Visa:thumbsup

Jayson 04-03-2002 05:19 PM

This one I agree with, wasnt so sure about the beastie descision but this one is different, while they claim that the pictures are art etc its the mass collection of them in one place that is really objectionable.

FATPad 04-03-2002 05:25 PM

Gary 04-03-2002 05:29 PM

First they took my beast sites, now they take my "art" sites, next they're gonna stop processing for my sites with animals shitting on teens. *sigh*

spacedog 04-03-2002 05:31 PM

Shoplifter 04-03-2002 05:46 PM

This is the right decision. There is no way that these kids are not being exploited economically or otherwise.

spacedog 04-03-2002 05:49 PM

I think it's the right decision to be made.. put those fuckers out of business.. now they just need to get all the other CC's & billing companies to follow suit...

Brad Mitchell 04-03-2002 10:16 PM

I'm quite glad that Visa's doing this with the child stuff, finally a way to get 'em in the pocket.

Brad

MikeEP 04-03-2002 10:23 PM

I agree as there was never a question about simulating underage porn.

I just curious what they'll ban next. Seems typical...ban all the shit everyone hates, get them on your side, then slowly move your way into banning mainstream porn.

I hope im wrong.

Brad Mitchell 04-03-2002 10:28 PM

I don't like censorship but I hate the CP so much I'm thrilled that they made that decision. However yes, it does beg the question when the other 'shoes' will drop... Will they ban sites that use certain keywords even if there aren't illicit visual depictions... will they ban bdsm or some other fetish area. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Perhaps they'll just leave it as it stands now, wouldn't that be nice.

Brad

ADIDAS 04-03-2002 10:32 PM

Its about fuckin time they crack down!

Good job VISA! Finally behind your decisions! At least for this one! :thumbsup :winkwink:

I don't think this industry is that lucky.

ServerGenius 04-04-2002 01:31 AM

First of all let me say I totally agree that these kind of sites need
to get shutdown asap...they are a plague to our industry! However......I don't like Visa to be the censor!!!! These sites
will still not dissapear there will always be a dialer company
who is clapping at Visa and sends them a box of chocclates with
a thank you for the business card attached to it.

Let governments adjust laws so that this kind of content will be
illegal....I fully understand that that is not going to happen soon
but I totally dissagree that Visa is going to decide for the world
what is good for visa cardholders to see and what is not. This
is the second ban within a month...and I have a feeling it's not
going to stay with this one.....

Again how good it may seem because of the type of content which
should be illegal and should be banned no discusson possible on
that....But Visa is moving in the direction of slowly banning any adult content....'becuase that's where it is going!

good news :)

what's next? celebrities
stay tuned

Brujah 04-04-2002 02:00 AM

Dammit think about this.

Why did VISA need to make this rule ? Why did the processors even ALLOW it in the first place ?

[Labret] 04-04-2002 02:07 AM

Cause it was legal.

ServerGenius 04-04-2002 02:08 AM

Because sadly enough it complies with the law, it's not illegal
and at first they just thought dollars!

kmanrox 04-04-2002 02:09 AM

i am a bit delirious, so excuse me if i am naive... but this means only NUDE underage girls?

or does it mean provacitely clothed girls like that lilamber.com site as well?

they are both bad, just wondering if lilamber type of site is above the law??

DarkJedi 04-04-2002 02:34 AM

i dont think celebs are going to get banned - there is nothing illegal there. Public content so what.

ServerGenius 04-04-2002 02:37 AM

So was animal and this "Art" content and yes I know that in some
countries this was illegal...Visa never billed in those countries...
in some countries harcore porn or even showing pubic hair is illegal too....

bhutocracy 04-04-2002 02:51 AM

it's a slippery slope...

we can do without beast and simulated CP... it's just the next one that im worried about.. watersports? celeb? voyeur? after this we're really starting to get into grey areas of good and bad..

Brujah 04-04-2002 03:04 AM

Visa should *NOT* be the one making these decisions. If its legal, the ones needing to address it are the lawmakers. I don't want a company like VISA making all the rules. Fuckers.

Be afraid.

Theo 04-04-2002 04:14 AM

i hope i'm right. I made a single A.Kourn.... gallery for personal use that i enjoy often http://www.gofuckyourself.com/images/icons/heee.gif
