I was just uninvited to a party
 

A friend of mine who is having a Christmas Eve party (We're Jewish) as her house which I was invited to just called me to ask if I am interested in a friend of hers which we met at a party a couple of weeks ago.

Apparently, her friend, who was also invited to the Christmas Eve party, had e-mailed her and asked if I'm going to be in the party and if I'm single.

Well, after telling my friend I'm not interested in her friend, she told me it might be a bit awkward if I come to her party then and it's probably best if I don't go.

I thought invitations were like gifts, you're not supposed to be able to take them back. Now what I am supposed to do on Christmas Eve?

I don't get why either of us needs to get discarded. Who cares if I'm not into her? I've been rejected by a lot of women and still had to see them from time to time. It's not what I'd call a mood lifter, but it's not the end of the world. Is it some how more degrading for a woman to be rejected by a man than it is for a man to be rejected by a woman?

Yeah man, I dont get it either. Seems to me maybe her girlfriend there needs to grow up. Adults mingle all of the time with people they arent dating, or even like very much lol. It's not a big deal. But evidently is to her.
