I've got an AJP with a 15.1" screen which is nice to look at but it's a bit slow these days PII266...
I bought a Compaq Presario 1215 last November - it's not bad really, it just melted it's motherboard once and killed it's floppy drive 2 weeks later... Go to your newsagents and flick through Laptop Monthly or something and see what they recommend in your price range.... |

Hi Tara,
I highly recomment the sony vaio super slim pro series. I just got the DC model and it is AWESOME! 1gig processor, 20 gig HD, slimdock w/DVD and CDRW and only 3.75 lbs to boot! It is fast, you can get a model thatt will handle graphics easily enough and it is a breeze to carry around! twinkley |
Got cash? Go with Sony!....sorry got no refcode :)

Sony laptops suck.
Go with a Dell or Toshiba. I'm a Dell man myself when it comes to notebooks. |
Dell rocks :thumbsup
But you can buy an IBM too my cousin have one and it's pretty good without any problems |

After using the IBM trackpoint you won't ever want to use anything else...

I have two, a dell and a HP omnibook 6000. I'm quite happy with both of them, i recommend the HP. It's more stable and aggression proof :Graucho

I have a Compaq Presario 1700 1.06 ghz with a 30gig HD and 1gig of ram. I love it.
I got this in October, If I went shopping for another computer today it would be for one of the new Slim Toshiba's with the 802.11 built in. I have a wireless card plugged into this one all the time and I have to be extra careful when moving around so I don't crack it. Whenever you do get that new laptop I suggest you pick up a Peerless 20gig drive too. It makes backing up your sites extra easy and convinient! Why didn't you like the Mac? |
Sony Vaio FX series I personally have the FX 370K
CD Burner, DVD, Floppy, Ethernet and Modem all built in. 1 Ghz Intel proc, 256k ram upgradeable to 512 (highly recommended) and a 15.1" screen.. The sony screens are better than any other laptop out. the clearest screens for sure! To upgrade your Ram goto Ubid.com and pick it up Cheap..! The Ram that comes with the laptop is only 100mhz, so buy 2 256k 133mhz chips and your machine will blaze. Another cool feather about the Sony is you can have 2 batteries.. giving you 6 hours of battery life. You just can't beat the value or the quality. |
my friend just got a toshiba, pretty nice laptop. i have a dell right now but if i was buying a new one, i'd definitely go with a toshiba.
