Does anyone still use PGP (Pretty Good Protection)?

I remember meeting one of the developers at a trade show back in '94 but I don't really hear much about it anymore.

Does anyone here still use it or a version of it?

I use the disk encryption as well as encrypt sensitive emails once in a while. Nice software.

I don't have AIM installed on my home machine (for a reason). I'll hit you up first thing tomorrow.

for a second there, I thought this Thread was talking about condoms.

If you want "Pretty Good Protection", just double bag the shit!

if you use anything based out of the usa expect the fed's to have a back door into it.

if your paranoid about your data you dont use anything us based.

PGP is all fine and dandy for 99% of your encryption issues if all you're worried about is your competition reading your e-mail traffic. However keep in the back of your mind that Uncle Sam could read your PGP encrypted mail if he wanted to waste the resources of over 100+ acres of specialized NSA computing power on your reading your message.

In reality, its easier to get one of the joint task force NSA/CIA black bag teams to install a keylogger on your machine and forward your passphrase onward, this assuming you're in the CONUS.

But to answer your question, yes, I still use PGP.
