different phones have cables to connect your cellphone, or sprint has a wireless web modem that uses your sprint pcs minutes and it costs about $250.

They use all the wireless providers to give you service.. att, verizon and cingular. |
IMHO There's still nothing useful on the market -- the best out there was Ricochet -- at 128k it was only $70/month (unlimited bandwidth) and very fast (almost always 128k or faster) and reliable (in LA where I used it)-- it worked even while moving in a car -- but Ricochet went out of biz and was sold (I'm still waiting for them to come back... probably within a year they will be back in LA)... anything else out there now will cost you probably $500+ for the modem and setup and then you'll be paying a lot of $$$ for something slower and less reliable than dialup...
also make sure you research the specs on the service/modem -- these things may not work indoors in some buildings (locations) unless there are windows/line-of-sight... etc... I'm pretty sure if you go microwave you have to worry about anything w/ water being in the way of the connection (ie: trees hehe) -- so in other words -- do your homework on how you will use it -- and what the limits are of the service -- or you are just throwing money out the window... read some reviews first of the service online -- you will find mostly negative comments (except for Ricochet) -- and I can tell you some horror stories I had just to get my hands on a fucking Ricochet modem ;) |
wireless network hooked to a cable modem lets me work from the couch at night. nothing better. :)

Get a phone with GPRS. Works perfect and you are allways connected :) I use it all the time
|
I just got a new GSM/GPRS phone from AT&T wireless that has an infared connection so that you can use it with an infared port on a laptop as a 56K modem. Also has the basic net connectivity of the other net-ready phones, but BLECK.
