Does anyone fall for this shit? The person saying "tell them I sent you" is either trying to look big or gets a nice kickback for referring people. This happens especially in hosting threads. Personally I would never even check out a host because Billie Bob "sent me". That screams ulterior motives to me.

Did you ever stop to think that the people saying that ( NOT PUTTING AN AFF LINKING CODE ) might actually know the people, and they might actually give out the " Hell of a deal " to that persons friends???

And would you truly trust your aff money to word of mouth?>

Wow, I guess you dont have any friends. Because yes, some of them are my friends.

it all depends on who is saying it and how its said.

I say that to people once in awhile because i mean it, sometimes its for a cut.

If i say "tell them i sent you" i just want a cut.

If i say " make sure to mention my name because _______" it usually means , you will get a better deal / better service..

With some things like hosting you have to count on some people using up more resources and some less ( like support etc )

if i refer you to joe because " you will get a better deal "

its because i know joe and can explain your not going to be a pain in the neck and cost him money , thus saving him money and you..

basically if your not a good enough friend of the person to ask " why should i mention your name , just because you get a cut or some other reason " then i wouldnt trust it.

"just taking a cut " isn't a bad thing in my book , if i refer a customer whether its word of mouth or linking , i still would like/deserve a cut.. but i certainly wouldnt lie and tell them they would get a better deal unless they truly were.

If somebody points you in the direction of something you need and you get something you want then why should it bother you? It is like people that will go out of their way to deny somebody comission on something even though it costs them nothing personally.

Oh and if anyone takes a server with e5hosting I don't get anything out of it. Just putting a hook up to a great server deal.
