Natural Disasters 2005 Costliest $$$

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4546982.stm

This is an important story as it outlines the costs of disasters.

About a quarter of a trillion bucks so far and 2005 has over a week to go.

There's no way in heck we can survive economically another year like 2005.

With our various business models it's best to take another look at how we do business to best deal with the possibility that the bigger cities might have a disaster and what that would do to networks, signups etc.

Always have a backup plan I says.

Jeez, they just had a 3.0 quake near N'Orleans today. I'll bet them folks down there are wondering what sins they committed to bring all this shit down on them.

Well, I'm with you but the scientists don't agree.

If just one hurricane Katrina size hits a populated area within the next 5 years we're fucked economically.

2006 is gonna be the turning point believe me.

Well, there will always be some effective means on how to lighten up the effect of these disasters--the only thing we could do I guess..

dutch charities had well over 50 million left from the donations for the tsunami

Indeed! What's of greater note is that America doesn't have the surplus to rescue the rest of the world anymore. The war in Iraq and the disasters here have drained us dry. We're still not done fixing up people who suffered hurricanes from 3 years ago much less the victims of Katrina.

It's a year since the great tsunami and at least now people are aware of the warning signs so the death toll will be less. Yet the devestation in lives in Pakistan is a testament to what happens when you use shortcuts in construction in direct violation of the scientific agreed upon standards. That death toll is inexcusable. Because there are so many of us humans disasters claim mega lives so we need to stand fast and keep a fair weather eye out.

I just hope 2006 would not be like the disastrous 2005.
