Is your back fucked up from sitting hunched over all day

Seems like I keep getting worse. I bought the best chair you can buy and it still doesnt really help..

Maybe I need to hire someone to message me.

HorseShit 12-18-2005 05:57 PM

fucking sucks.. with my recent injury I have just been using a laptop and sitting on a leather couch.. i keep shoving various pillows behind me to help my back

Dalai lama 12-18-2005 05:58 PM

I went to the doctor for my back last week, he was shocked. He said I was pretty young to have back problems. I need to do some sports again :2 cents:

HDADULT 12-18-2005 05:59 PM

more like my eyes are going from staring at the monitors.

pornguy 12-18-2005 06:01 PM

Exercise is one of the very best things that you can do. Get off your ass a few times a day and stretch.

JFK 12-18-2005 06:02 PM

yes I do ,been on here for too long of a strech at a time :2 cents:

porncaster 12-18-2005 06:06 PM

after i broke my collar bone, i had to learn to sit with good posture. tighten up your lower back and set up straight. sucks at first but itll change your life. now i feel fine after 12 hours straight at the desk.

Vitasoy 12-18-2005 06:11 PM

My sitting posture sucks too.. I get back pains from time to time.

The Other Sweetie 12-18-2005 06:14 PM

damn double post

The Other Sweetie 12-18-2005 06:16 PM

Oh God, mine kills. I have serious back problems anyway (was diagnosed with arthritis in my back when I was 20), but my old chair doesn't help me either. Couldn't even walk straight last week, was in so much pain.

In fact, I just bought a new leather chair this afternoon that I'd love to be using right now, but I can't get the fucking wheels on. It's pissing me off. I want to sit in my new chair dammit. lol

Spunky 12-18-2005 06:22 PM

I did but noticed if I get up and walk around and stretch every hour or so It doesn't bother me as much

Alex 12-18-2005 06:23 PM

Yngwie 12-18-2005 06:26 PM

sfera 12-18-2005 06:33 PM

MattO 12-18-2005 06:35 PM

I've been using one of these damn fitness balls as a chair. It's helping a lot. Plus, over time it works your abs as you do your work.

Make sure your monitor is ergonomically positioned correctly to your body.

Set your phones on a table nearby, not on your desk, so you have to get up to answer them.

Get a dog so you get to go for walks 4 times a day.

:thumbsup

Yup, I get back pains all day long :(

PixeLs 12-18-2005 07:00 PM

A massage will perfectly help dude..

JoeS 12-18-2005 07:09 PM

Hello Roger,

Sorry to hear your back hurts.

Yes our backs are not designed for us to be sitting at a desk for many hours on end. We should all take breaks every 30 minutes to get up and streach and walk around. A good chair is very important. Proper placement of ones monitor is too. I would guess that most of us have some problem with our necks or backs from working online. It would be a great service is AVN held a seminar on how to stay healthy while working in this industry.

Take breaks so you don't break!

Stay healthy Roger!

Joe S.

CDSmith 12-18-2005 07:11 PM

No, but it's a bit fucked up from moving nearly two and a half tons of snow over the past week. :D

Here's to good pain killers!

Elli 12-18-2005 07:23 PM

I don't even notice the clock every 30 minutes. I get up like about every two hours or so. I have a dog, but she pees in the backyard and then comes back inside, so four walks a day really don't happen.

sigh.

Poppy 12-18-2005 07:27 PM

Nope, not me. I am fortunate that I go to this excerise class at least 3x/week Egoscue and I am a BIG believe in massage. Deep tissue. No fu fu stuff.

Pilforgod 12-18-2005 07:36 PM

...

"more like my eyes are going from staring at the monitors."

I've been assured by my eye doctor that staring at monitors in NO WAY effects eye sight :thumbsup

tristan_D 12-19-2005 12:12 AM

maybe you can use cushions when you rest your back on the chair.

kektex 12-19-2005 12:17 AM

Yeah my back is getting screwed .Along with my right wrist.
From holding the mouse, not from doing what you think .. *sigh*
My new years resolution is getting a bit more excercise.

phonesex 12-19-2005 12:58 AM

same fucking problems here.

BigBen 12-19-2005 02:21 AM

Massage will definately help. Deep tissue is good stuff.

fuzzylogic 12-19-2005 04:33 AM

I have a totally fucked up back. Thankfully, I have a friend who's a Chiropractor.

If you've never been, do yourself a favor and see one.

Ace-wtf 12-19-2005 05:07 AM

I have an MRI on Thursday to find out what's wrong with mine.

NyLoS 12-19-2005 08:04 AM

get layed a little more, 2 or 3 times per day really helps !

DutchTeenCash 12-19-2005 08:06 AM

taking breaks is the key message aeron chair or beercrate

Kemist 12-19-2005 08:08 AM

I've had upper back problems for a while now, I have relieved the pain however with a Cushtie, it molds to your back and supports it very well. I would highly recommend! :thumbsup

sickkittens 12-19-2005 08:09 AM

Regardless of the chair, I constantly slouch. Isn't hurting, though. *knock on wood*

MindyBlingBucks 12-19-2005 08:10 AM

My posture is awful. I have to keep reminding myself to sit up straight.

Tricksy 12-19-2005 08:10 AM

We should go into sports...I guess.

~Ray 12-19-2005 08:11 AM

I had back pains daily until I started working out again.. then, since day 3, not 1 back pain.

Babagirls 12-19-2005 08:15 AM

ya know, its funny this thread just came up today...
i woke up today, yet again, with lower back pain. im 25 yrs old for christs sake!! i shouldnt be having back pain.

right now, i have an over-sized leather computer chair, that i sit indian-style in 90% of the time (and lean forward to work)..i can pretty much blame the lower-back pain on myself.

time to start sitting up straight and get a new chair that isnt so comfy.

Totally agree with you. We bought a free weights set for the house and after starting to lift again, the back pain went away. Went to the doc for a physical and I complained about my back pain (mentioning that it felt better since exercising). He told me to take all these pills and lidocaine patches and not work out for two weeks. The meds ran out and the pain returned, hence the MRI. At least he said I can work out again.

ElvisManson 12-19-2005 08:42 AM

I use one of these pretty much daily.

It helps stretch out my spine.

http://www.teeterhangups.com/images/home-anim4.gif

If you keep your knees elevated slightly above your hips it will remove most of the pressure that is placed on your lower back when sitting for extended periods.

:2 cents:

Raven 12-19-2005 08:44 AM

My back was fucked up from breaking it years ago. Sitting hunched over for years certainly didn't help the continuous pain...

When I started going to the gym, within four months, I was experiencing no pain. It's been a mighty relief.

Screaming 12-19-2005 08:50 AM

Dont bother me at all

RogerV 12-19-2005 08:52 AM

ok so I need to work out, stretch, walk my dog,buy some ball, hire a Chiropractor and fuck alot

Ahh damn its going to be a long recovery LOL

actually streching my back on the exercise ball helps alot
