going to be like the Valerie Plame outing? Is Dubya going to be pissed off until he finds out who leaked the info and then it will no longer be an issue?

(Unless it is determined that laws were broken by conducting the eavesdropping program.)

I thought the news of the NSA eavesdropping seemed rather redundant, since most people somewhat suspect its been going on for years & years.

Wasn't it rumoured the feds covertly wiretapped throughout the cold war era lookin' for nasty commies and such?

If anything, it merely seemed like the first time it was openly admitted to by the prez himself. Not like it came as any great surprise.

But, there is supposed to be a legal process for obtaining warrants to conduct the investigations through a special court and the process was bypassed by not getting the court's approval.

echelon has been running for years , australia was the only coutry that admitted to such a program running until recently

That has been going on for years, and will continue to go on long after.

Dude those two things are not even on the same level of usage lol. Plus Carnivore is nothing spectacular.

I believe the most important part is when condoleeza rice was on the TV the other day and she was answering questions and I believe one of them said the president was doing everything possible legally.
