I got burnt buying a system online.
It was taking some time to deliver and now they dont answer phone calls or emails.

I did some searching and found this post that says they may have went out of bussiness.

I used a money order so I dont think I will be able to get my money back :feels-hot

Can anyone suggest what I can do? If anything.

money orders can be cancelled i believe, but you had better check post haste

thanks kmanrox - it was a postal money order. I already checked and they cashed it 3 days after I sent it.

Now I guess all they can do is send me a copy of the cashed money order so I can prove who cashed it. What ever good that might do. :mad:

Some money order issuers will help you go after ripoffs or even do it themselves and refund to you. ;-)

actually it took me 3 days at pricewatch.com to find the one company that was going to go out of bussiness right after they got my money. :(

if you didnt get your product thats fraud.. keep the money order slip and all the info you have about it and contact a lawyer. bust their balls in court. get your cash back and a lil bouns for the trouble.

Write to pricewatch and tell them what happened........ SOMEONE will be mighty shitty about that. Not that they can DO anything persay, but if they have the people's contact info and these people try and open another "company" they can be on the look out for them.

May not get your money back, but pricewatch will damn sure keep an eye open for them.

Thats what I was kind of hoping since it was a postal money order.

I was going to say something to them but I got pissed and side tracked.

It sure as all hell can't hurt to try it and you'd be shocked at the info they will fork over if THEY are confronted with this. They may even give you the contact info or a means to find these guys. Who knows, but at this point, anything is worth a shot.

And for the record, the bank issuing this money order will help you find out who signed this money order, I have had similar problems and the issuing bank sent me a photocopy of the signature and all other info they had on it. If I remember correctly, they even told me the name of the bank that it was deposited in.

I sent them an email so hopefully they will look into it and get the site off of their listings so no one elses gets fucked over.

Yup that is exactly what happened when I stoped at the post office where I purchased it at. They called and verifed that it had been cashed and said that they would mail me a copy of the cashed money order.

Hopefully I can use the info to my advantage:winkwink:

Now for the real bad part....

I got ripped off by registerfly (registerfly.com). Sent them $30 by paypal more than a month ago and they still haven't added it to my account. All my emails were ignored. Their phone has always an answering machine.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

If they went bankrupt, there probably isn't much you can do. You can't get money where there isn't any, and the bankruptcy laws which would protect you if you got into a bad spot protect them as well. With some luck, you might get $.10 on the dollar, but believe me customers aren't first in line at the trough. Know who is? HIS bankruptcy attorney.

I did a search on google and found that site I listed in my first post.

There I found the phone number to thier attorny. And I have been calling them for about a month.

I also filled a comlaint at the bbb for the state they were in and also another complaint with the Attorney General.

I think the attorney general was the best thing. They contacted the company and sent me thier reply. And of course I replied back :o)

In fact the money order I recieved from them had a copy of the letter that they sent the Attorney General to let them know they sent the money and asked them to close the account.


So I guess you should file complaints to both the bbb and Attorny general of the state. And also search on the net for other people bitching about the same company. You would be surprised what people can find out. :)

I had gave up on getting my money back. But I had already got in motion and was just being a pest to make myself feel like I did all I could to get the money back.

Then when I checked my mail today I found a money order that refunded my money in full ! :thumbsup

It's hard to imagine a happier ending than that!

Sent them a cashiers check..... when they got it... I got an email
telling me.... I had money on deposit with them... and how to use it... I'd much rather use a monery order or cashiers check.... for shit like this....

I really do not think I'd make a purchase like a computer with one though ( cashiers check or money order ) ....
For a computer I'll just pay a little more and trot my ass down to the store... Or just buy the parts and throw one together... Any more it's not that much cheaper,,, building you own...

No better yet the man has a Postal Money Order...you did the right thing by buying that money order at the P.O.

Take the receipt right now down to your local branch and discuss with them about filing a complaint...you will not need a lawyer because you will have the Postal Inspectors doing the job for you.

You may not be able to recover any money (not 100% sure about that) but you will be able to fuck the bastards who ripped you off royally.

I mean this seriously...I've been doing sales on eBay for well over 3 years and this is about the best protection you can have when making purchases through the mail.
