You know, we all post stupid, useless, controversial and sometimes private things at this place called gfy. Sometimes even the worst thing one can say for his image: the truth.

No matter how reserved or open you are as a person if you made more than 5k posts there sure is a thread or reply somewhere where you said something you wished you wouldnt have if someone confronted you with it.

Caused by the heat of the discussion or just the mood you were in at that stage of your life, day even.

Not that you have anything to hide but the stuff that is 'on paper' sometimes doesnt reflect what you really are or think and even less 10 years from now.
We dont exactly deal with diplomacy around here and thats very hard
to explain when printed and showed to the outside world.

Ive seen people been convicted for less than what the average smalltime poster posts during the afternoon.

Are you ever affraid that some day.. 10 or 20 years from now.. when you left adult behind and deal with high-class business or something else that puts you in the media spotlight were you cant afford to 'fuck around' your posts and the statements you made will be used against you?

I've lost my temper once or twice ..but for the most part it's just me ... I hope I'm never doing anything for a living that would require me to hide who i am ... no one is perfect and i work on myself everyday ... I'm sure I'll look back at things i did in my 30's and shake my head just like i look back and shake my head about things i did when i was 19 ... but i never regret :2 cents:

There are so many skeletons in my closet I really don't care about one more or less. I ruined my chances of a career in politics long before even turning 16, and if the christians or muslims ever come to power I'll be fucked anyway.

It freaks me out when I find usenet posts that I made in 1994 still online, never mind what I'll think in 2020 about something I may have posted here or on some other board. It really is wierd that this stuff doesn't just go away. The Internet has a long memory.

I've had a file at the DOJ for years. I remember when they sent a photographer to take my picture during the MIPORN investigation. By now, I'm sure that it takes two agents to lift the fucker and a month to read everything inside.

When I retire, I'll get a copy under the Freedom of Information Act and publish it as my memoirs.
