Trust me it is true. Numerous trips to the vegas show, had to pay for an attendant every single time.

By the way there are several in same situation I am in. It is not just a one person type of issue. Most all of us in chairs must bring someone with us, and there are several of us in chairs. :2 cents:

I always pay, too. I've never really asked though. I figure my friend takes full advantage of the various parties so buying a ticket isn't a big deal, haha.

Nobody should have to pay to see all the paid for booths. If I want to see spam I get plenty of it free. What a fucking racket.

I know sly it isnt a big deal. Like I said earlier it is a principle thing with AVN. I always buy them and it is not that big of a deal. I am very used to having double the costs of shows just like you are. Though I rarely attend the parties aside from the suite ones since transpo always fucking sucks ass and ussually the parties require them.

I'm sorry, but it isn't just AVN. Its LIFE. Being crippled is expensive in every way, shape, or form. Word to the wise: have good medical insurance in case you get hurt!

It would be nice if AVN would give a free pass though. It would kick ass if the Padres did, too, haha.

Which is why I started this thread, just giving them the opportunity to show a little class, and perhaps initiate some change.

Yeh, I typically setup my own transportation too, the provided shuttles can be difficult.

I am anticipating a complete cluster fuck this year though with transportation. I can pretty much almost rule out cabs since everything will be busy as hell due to the venues. Combining that with an experience last year with a cab and well I am pretty sure I will be renting a car this year and keeping it in the hotel garage.

Really, you guys are being way too hard on AVN. I suspect somebody will get a free pass out of this thread. I'm not extremely fond of AVN either, but they really aren't doing anything out of the ordinary.

I pay double every time I go to a concert, game, movie, out to eat... you name it.

It seems like AVN is really starting to push webmasters away .. someone over there needs to take the time to look at cases like this and make an exception. I'm sure there are good guys like AfterShock that can't afford to buy two tickets and we never get to see them at the shows ... that's a shame ... I'm glad guys like Aftershock and Sly can afford it because there both good guys ... :thumbsup

i mean stuff like getting onto shuttles or transpo or anything like that. i am sure it wouldn't take very much effort for a few of us to lend a hand at approriate times to make sure you don't get left back for some reason like no lift on a shuttle or getting some help into or out of a building. that stuff is easily accomplished.

i think the Tican idea is a great idea. we should have a sponsor raffle for the "golden chair"

our event there is on the saturday, the big night at the show. i'll find out any details in advance so you don't have to deal with any unknown obstacles.

Well if I could somehow GET to Vegas from houston, I already have a pass to get in. If I can get there I would HAPPILY take you around the show. First of all it would be absolutely no problem at all for me to take a fellow webmaster around. Second of all, I'll just be happy to be at a show after being in the biz for 3 years and never having been to one.


Anyway, if they don't offer to hook you up with someone I'll be more than happy to do it.

It sounds fair to me. Two people going to the show = two tickets.

But, half price for the wheelchairbound sounds fair too. So, how about cheaper tickets for the dudes in a wheelchair, as some of them need to be pushed around all the time? That would be normal and fair too.

Just a real lack of 'thinking' by AVN, as usual.

Have they ever contacted AVN and explained the predicament to see about this situation? I do not think AVN would do this with intention.
