This 24 hour support can be a little frustrating.
I don't mind offering 24 hour support, our customers deserve it, but sometimes . . . .
This morning for example: 6:35 - Phone rings - "Thank you for calling Got Web Host." Click. 6:36 - Phone rings - "Thank you for calling Got Web Host." Click. 6:49 - Phone rings - "Thank you for . . " Click. 6:50 - Phone rings - "Got Web Host" Click. 6:53 - Phone rings - Me: "Got Web Host" Him: "I keep getting the wrong number" Me: "Well, that is because you keep dialing it." Him:"But that is the number I was given." Me: "If you call a wrong number, calling it over again is not going to change anything." I hope the rest of the day goes a little smoother. |

Just the other day, I was getting these calls from a nursing home. Some little old lady with a raspy voice asking for some woman. I politely tried to explain to her that she had the wrong number. As I'm explaining, she hangs up on me... two seconds later the phone rings... I try to explain again and she hangs up on me... 10 seconds later she does it again but this time just sits there for a while and THEN hangs up on me. This happens a few more times... So I grab the number off of caller ID and call it back. She picks up the phone and just listens to me. Useless... the calls stop. Until the next evening. I get home and my wife tells me she called 8 times. I check the caller ID and she is right. No more calls until last night, where she left a message on my answering machine asking for her two daughters... kind of creepy, but feel bad. Oh well - lol - I feel your pain :Oh crap |

Hire some outsourced support staff and only have them forward the calls to you if its an emergency.
