i just spent the last nine hours writing over 400 gallery descriptions just so the goddamn program could shit on me, and my computer could restart itself after some fucking fatal exception when i tried to save the fucking work.

i am tired. i am ready to scream and cry and rip things apart. i am going to bed.

shitty, didnt you save at all during the 9 hours...I have had something like that happen to me and now I save like every 5 minutes

wow, thank god I have auto save, or recover, on the programs i work with...any time there is a crash my software asks me if I want to recover the last thing I was working on

Oh my god that sucks! I swear I'm so paranoid of something like that, that if I change ONE thing in a file, I hit Save automatically. I think sometimes I hit Save even if I changed nothing.. One too many times and it's just like blinking or breathing.

You should be able to recover it in Excel - by default Excel autosaves and will autorecover if it's an error and shuts down. When you get up, please try to open up the file again and let me know what happened. Thanks

Is it Friday already? Where does the week go?

As for saving files, I have this driving need, this alert that goes off in my head whenever I'm typing something, a document, an email, anyupdates to html pages etc... that tells me to save every few minutes. I save like a mental case..... but that little alarm has saved me many headaches, and from past experience I know full well just how much it sucks to lose hours of work due to a sudden crash. Ug.

Train yourselves to save!
