$25 PayPal for Sales Copy right now

I'm looking for someone that's a bit of a "wordsmith", that could put together some really good sales copy for a mainstream site I'm working on. The guy I'm doing this job for is very much into the "long copy" type sites, that are a one-page site that scrolls endlessly with one sales pitch after another trying to get someone to buy the product. Here's an example: http://www.auctiontips.com/

Personally, I can't stand this type of sales approach... but this is what he likes, so this is what I'll deliver. BUT.... I'm just having a brain fart with putting together this long copy, since that's not really my strong suit. So I'll PayPal $25 over to someone to take on this task and deliver a nice page of sales copy.

The site will be selling a proprietary product in the automotive industry, so this will be MAINSTREAM, not adult. And no offense, but I'm looking for someone that can really put some good sales hooks together... no 5th grade english level wanted :) I'll provide you with all the necessary information on the product when we talk.

So hit me up on ICQ or email if you're interested in this little job. ICQ is 14592420 and email is phpjunkie AT gmail dot com

It's quick easy cash for someone that excels at sales copy. I'm not looking for page design, just words...

I am sorry, but how many words do you expect for $25?

baddog 12-14-2005 09:16 PM

and I love that "just words."

If it is "just words" why not just put some together yourself?

HXMGP 12-14-2005 09:17 PM

I'm really good but I'll pass too. I'd rather make my own page :)

Jayvis 12-14-2005 09:19 PM

I could easily do it, but you'd have to pay me more than $25.

My rates are:

Press Release Writing
up to 250 word release $150
up to 350 word release $200
up to 450 word release $275

That page you gave as an example I would do for about $1,000, and that would be a deal.

EviLGuY 12-14-2005 09:21 PM

Seriously.. $25 is so lowball for something like this that it's funny.

if it's "just words" than i'd use 5th grade grammar for $25.

you have NO clue on what people charge for this type of work

Jayvis 12-14-2005 09:23 PM

I'll do a page like that for $300.

spunkmaster 12-14-2005 09:24 PM

This is about a $1000 - $1500 job !

You can get a template online for under $100 and do it yourself or
have the client do it.

I would need about 1/4 of the amount of sales copy from that example. $25 might be lowballing, but it's quick payment for quick work. I realize everybody and their brother feels compelled to troll and reply on these threads, nature of this board.

Dude even a 5th grade student would take like ... 5 hours to finish 1/10 of what is one in that page.

You have no idea. It's not "just words". The copy is more important than any design. The copy is the difference between whether the site sells or not. If you're not willing to pay for a good job the site won't sell and your client will make no money. It's that simple.

BTW, to give you an idea what is charged by copywriters who get results take a look at this guy's price list http://www.dankennedy.com/direct_response_copy.html

Quick work? You never answered my question, how many words?

Don't have a set number of words in mind - it just has to look right. Already have around 500 words, so the sales copy is already started. So the job wouldn't be started from a complete blank page.

So a nickel a word? Good luck in your quest. While I had people in mind if you were reasonable I see that is not an issue in this case.
