Announcement: Mike Dutch doesn't work for Payserve anymore
 

Dear fellow GFY-ers,

Info:
Due to some recent events at Payserve, I have decided not to work there anymore and resign my job as marketing manager there. To avoid any speculations I would like to make it clear that we ended our working relationship on relative good terms.

I?m not allowed to tell anything about the situation so I won?t.
Neither can I be negative about Payserve, so I won?t.
So for those who are curious have bad luck :upsidedow

My competitors condition doesn?t allow me to work in the adult industry, so I won't, for a period of 1 full year starting from 1st October 2005.
So October the 1st 2006 I?ll be able to work in the adult again.

So what am I going to do this year ?
With so much time on my hand I decides to go back to school again.
Since October I?m doing a master at the Amsterdam University that specializes you in Project Management and Project Planning. This degree will give me the opportunity to manage projects in the ICT market and to be cost effective. Since the study is focused on the ICT market I will learn some background on programming to be able to plan complex ICT projects.

I can tell you that?s it?s pretty fun to go back to university and force yourself to learn and develop yourself again, I think it has been at least 4 years for me since I studied.

Besides that I work in the biggest night club in Amsterdam called Escape on Friday?s. So if you ever come to Amsterdam for a visit don?t hesitate to hit me up, so I can put you on the guest list and make sure you walk out on your hands and feet?s. Many of the people in the business can confirm that.

We still have a very good relationship with each other and Toine and me frequently meet up for a little beer. Due to my competitors condition I?m not allowed to work for them anymore so I won?t, although I regret that very much.

I wish Toine (AskJolene) and Pierre (Worldsex) all the best with AskJolene and all their other businesses. My appreciation goes out to them for their friendship, support and vision on the market.

All my business communication methods are taken by Payserve, since it was under their flag. So you can delete all my old contact info. My friends know where to contact me.

I met a lot of people in the industry that besides business have entered my private circle. I would like to thank everybody that I have done business with and that I had fun with during the shows or their visits here in Amsterdam. I can?t explain in words how welcoming some of you are! I don?t want to thank personally here, since I?ll probably forget to mention people :winkwink:

See you all 1st of October 2006 (online) or the next show that follows after that date.
I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I?ll drink one (probably more) on your health guys during the holidays.

Payserve should do the right thing and release you from that no compete .

in fact I might have to give some serious thought to if I pull my payserve traffic for a period of one year unless they do so.

I mean to not alow a guy to work for a period of a year is childish.

In the US, we don't have such things as servitude and you have a right to work. Hiring a good attorney may find a loop hole in your agreement. Or on mutual consent, there maybe jobs you could do. To say someone can't work in a whole industry sounds a little to broad to me. I'm not an attorney!! Think it's hard to really give up rights just by contract. Kinda along the lines of you can't have a legal binding contract that would involve illegal activity. Non compete contracts need to be very specific I believe.

Anyway, sounds like you're happy going back to school. Best to ya.

Non competes are almost completely impossible to uphold in the US also. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do. Seems everyone is making major job decisions this month :)

Well My Partner , Boldy speaks highly of you personally. So him and I will discuss this situation.

I trust his judgement 110%, on a person.

However I know Mike to be a great guy as well.

So I definatly think this situation is unfortunate. :2 cents:
And the only fact I can see is a company stoping and individual from making a living. That never sets well with good hearted people. :)

Non-competes, if written correctly will hold up, but it would have to be pretty specific, like you can not enter the same type of work.

Saying you can not work on the Internet is not specific enough.
