what do you use to edit big text files?
 

notepad can only handle so much, i have a 100 meg text file i need to edit.

what do you guys use.

I use UltraEdit.

And HOLY SHIT! That's a massive text file!

actually its only part of it. the full thing is 3.2 gigs

I use both for parsing and going through GFY web log files every day. :)

Oh, another good thing about Programmer's File Editor is that it's a Windows application, but does NOT have to go through an installation. Just download and uncompress to a folder and run the *.exe. Small enough to fit on a single 3.5-inch floppy, comes in VERY handy when working in server rooms. :winkwink:

I have used editpad for many years. The free version should handle it no problem.
