Yeah, they were all excited, but scared. Who wouldn't be? Think about the things they will see/encounter out there. They may have to deal w/ pirates. Yes, there are real pirates and they were apprenhenious about carrying guns. The reason is because of how other countries feel about guns and the consequences. The other reason was because they felt if they didn't carry guns, pirates would most likely just steal their shit and not have to risk a shootout.

Sounds like the "Endless Summer" flicks, but in a shittier time of humanity.

Good luck to them and hope they have fun, find stellar waves and don't keep finding locals who say "wish you were here yesterday."
