He Is Finally here (my new horse)
After waiting 2 months, (one month for the previous owner to get him ready, one month in quarantine) He arrived 1 hour ago!!!
My new Friesian Stallion!!! Man is he awsome!! This was the first time I have seen him in person, I bought him from looking at his pictures and had him imported from the Netherlands. Comming off the trailer - first look!! http://www.landofvenus.com/dance/h3.jpg Driver taking him to my barn http://www.landofvenus.com/dance/h2.jpg Him Eating http://www.landofvenus.com/dance/h1.jpg |
He is big. About 18.5 hands?
|
Looks like he was also trying to impress you in that one shot.
|
i love horse back ride!
|
He is 16.1 hands, He was a candidate at the 2004 stallion show and was awared ster at the show. He is a Ster Stallion meaning he has perfect confirmation and temperment and represents the friesian breed.
He is trained in level2 dressage, driving and jumping Quote:

If he is 16.1 hands, then the guy walking with him is really small.
|
I'm not into horseback riding but he sure is beautiful.
|
Wow, thats one beautiful horse! congrats :thumbsup
|
He is measured at the top of his wither, friesians have very long, thick necks, they look much taller then they are when they hold their head up.

that is more of a show horse than for just riding around on.
|
congrats to your new black stallion. hope you enjoy the ride.
|
My horses traverl in style also, here is the truck that brought him.
It costs more to move them with this company, but they travel good. http://www.landofvenus.com/dance/h4.jpg |
Yes he is a show horse. Show horse price also!!!
He is 4 yrs old so will get alot thicker as he gets older. But I am going to use him for dressage and breeding. I will be offering him for breeding this season. Quote:

I am afraid of horses! And allergic! :( |
Its not that simple, the stallion show is once a year in the Netherlands, its not held here in the US, so all stallions that qualify to attend have to get flown there.
The friesian stallion show is the main judging to see which stallions get approved for breeding. Those approved for breeding can only breed to approved, FHANA/FPS registered friesian mares. There are only about 60 approved Stallions in the netherlands and 20 here in the US, judging is very harsh. Since my guy did not become an "approved stallion", because of his quality he was awarded Ster and I can cross breed him. I can change his registry to the FPZ (the german registry) and take him for approval which I might do. The FPS (world friesian association) is very strict and complicated, but with the right horse can be very profitable. the Sire of my colt bred 246 mares last season at $1500 a pop - do the math.
