Billions went to the war.....While our Elderly are struggling to get medications they need.
They have to choose between eating or there meds...... Time to worry about our own country and the problems 1st. Sad that the elderly cant afford the high priced meds and so on... Great job G.W. http://z.about.com/d/politicalhumor/...on_fishing.jpg |
Just another page in the story of the smash and grab of America by the Bush family.

Saw a story about an elderly lady age 87 who is facing jail now in kentucky. What did she do ? She was selling her own prescription painkillers to supplement her social security check.
|
Take care of your parents - because no one else will :(
|
Dottie Neeley, 87, was fingerprinted, photographed and thrown in jail, imprisoned as much by the tubing from her oxygen tank as by the concrete and steel around her.

the US head is more concern on other countries, 2010 is gonna be a long wait.
|
The sad part is that these people worked their lives to fund their children's comfortable lives and helped fund the country's wealth and now they are thrown to the dogs. Sad indeed. At one point they had hope to get their meds in Canada but the pharmaceutical companies have tightened their grip on the legal online pharmacies in Canada so it's not as easy to get a prescription filled.

Even the soldiers fighting in Iraq today 'for our freedom' will face the same problem 40 years from now when their country has forgotten that they laid their life on the line.
It doesn't matter your patriotism in the end. |

The US Government spent $7.2 billion in 2004 classifying new documents and reclassifying old documents to prevent their release.
|
i had a daydream fantasy yesterday about where this country would be if al gore had won back in 2000. interesting to speculate.
|
oh, it's george here... :D

I wonder if today's generation of returning military will demonstrate the courage and tenacity of their grandparents generation. |

Ain't like it used to be.. |
They were told that all they would need in their senior years was Social security. What a crock of shit.

the government hasn't changed nearly as much as the populace has back then it was returning soldiers protesting in the 60's it was hippies protesting today they're all watching television waiting for someone else to do something :disgust |

When SS was first introduced the average life span of a retiree (age 65) was 67. During this period all that a recipient had paid in was withdrawn within the first eighteen months. This 18 month period has not changed much because of the increased benefits and medical coverage...but yet the average life span has changed dramatically...thus overburdening the system. The retirement age for some in X age group has been increased to 67...but realistically this number should currently be 69 or 70 and as time passes will have to be increased to a higher number. For whatever the reasons people instead of viewing SS as a supplement to their savings...investments and other retirement as well as private medical insurance...began to develop the attitude that SS was to be their sole retirement and medical coverage. There is a thing called personal responsibility but this is a trait that has deteriorated over the years and has turned into a "you owe me"/"give me" society of people. |

There are so many things we should have spent the money on (and should be spending the money on) before Iraq. It is very sad. |

Imagine that the money and resources used in Iraq is fighting terrorism and the spread of democracy is the long term tool being egaged to fight terrorism and reduce the risk of additional terrorist attacks against the US as well as the western world. |

Broad foresight like GW? Sorry, but I've owned smarter parakeets than our current "president." There aren?t too many people around who still buy this load of crap. Start reading some newspapers and quit with the FoxNews nonsense. |

Seriously... there is more relevant shit than playing games pretending to spread democracy on the planet.
The day seniors.. and eveyone else, have accessible healthcare (without being dosed on cocktails of drugs), the homeless in Louisanna have a roof over their heads, all funding siphoned out of pensions is replaced and unemployment rates are a low as possible is the day contemplation can start on "freeing the world" and "spreading democracy". All that shit starts at home and tho nothing may be perfect at all times - it's a long way from being near perfect. |

You have to look at this as an investment. :( |
yep, way to go america.
thats what happens when you stick your nose in everyone elses affairs and dont focus on your own. just wait till social security runs out and people who are busting their asses and paying the seniors ways now are old and have nothing. people in the 25 - 40 year old age group now are pretty fucked. |
Last I checked we were NOT a socialist nation. Save for your own future. Anyone that depends on the government deserves what they get.
|
Quote:
Thats fine for the kids of today but those people DID prepare for their future, they DID save.. but the poloticians fucked them over and stole their CASH/savings.. |

I bet Dottie Neeley (above) and her husband donated more into SS in their lifetimes than Dotty now has to look forward to. But hey, we got a solution - everyone need to work till they are 70, - na, make it 90, - before they "qualify" for a pension. Crass idiots! |
