Forum members fearing for their privacy
Seriously, people bother me sometimes. Moreso often than sometimes.
I run a mainstream niche board which has picked up in pace quite a bit since its launch in September. Almost 900 members and 15k posts. Now there's a couple of members who complained that when you search on Google for their board nick, you can find all of their posts indexed in Google. They've voiced the wish that I block Google from the board or make the threads only accessible for members. Now what the fuck am I supposed to say to that? "You're all retards, stfu and welcome to teh interweb?" Fuckin idiots. :disgust |

Sounds about right. |
Create a private subscription based forum section, where they can post without worry of a googlebot getting in.
|
Put a note about privacy issues on signup page and offer to delete nicks if they do not want to be listed.

How is showing your nickname an invasion of privacy. I thought nicknames were created to protect your privacy.

Post some of their nicknames in this thread then watch all the fun when Google does it next crawl of GFY :1orglaugh
That'll teach the moaning fuckers ;) Regards, Lee |
