What software would you recommend for chopping video up for MGP galleries

I use AVI MPEG ASF WMV Splitter

Do you want to cut it out in timed segments or choose your scenes?
Personally, I like Ulead for cutting it in scenes you want to choose - not too fancy or complicated.
My husband does the timed one automated Easy Video Splitter I think is the name.
