Vonage, I am using it right now and it works great. You can cloak numbers, redirect them, forward them to a cell phone, etc. It kicks ass. :2 cents:

Vonage is the SHIT!!!

ChatCash_Rob 12-12-2005 12:40 PM

I've had vonage for a couple months now with no complaints, doubt I'll ever go back to a regular land line.

Skype?

Anyone use skype? I like it, but sometimes there's static if used on a wireless network... Is that true for Vonage, too?

megatgpdotnet 12-12-2005 01:37 PM

Skype is best so far...

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 12-12-2005 01:40 PM

I invented VOIP.

can you use vonage for business lines? ie 800 #'s?

Deek 12-12-2005 02:05 PM

While everyone is talking about VoIP,

http://www.asterisk.org/

If your a company it may save you some $$ if you have remote sales people. Basically you can take POTs (standard phone lines) or even the higher grade lines (T1s and such) and turn it over to VoIP. Its an open source

I am suprised its not more popular in this community as everyone seems to travel alot. You can use a softphone (software) or even the hard phones (such as the cisco phones) and log in from your hotel rooms (bandwidth available that is).

This is likly more than you want, but its a possibility.

You get your 800 # ( like at Kall8 ) and then forward it to your VOIP line. I do that and it works great ( Vonage :thumbsup )
