9/11 Victim Fund Unfair ??
Geez, it looks like this subject isn't gonna die out anytime soon. Check out this article - http://slate.msn.com/?id=2063804
It's a tough subject. Families of the 9/11 attacks are gonna get 2 million dollars each, so now everyone else that has had people die in terrorist attacks like the first Trade Center attacks, federal building in Oklahoma City, and others are wondering why they're not getting that kind of money. Where do you end this ??? I can see the other people's points. If I had a family member get killed in the first Trade Center attack in 1993, and saw that these other families were getting 2 million dollars for this last attack, while I didn't get shit, I'd be pissed to. |
Yes it is unfair that victims of the first WTC attack did not get some sort of "compensation", its like the government is saying: We only pay out if the death rate is over 500.
|
Since when does the government and charity give money when people die? That is what insurance is for.
I would tell every last one of those people to FUCK OFF!!! I'm not trying to be cold, but its just absurd for people to expect government handouts like this. Does every soldier killed mean their familes get 2 million - LOL this is going to be an expensive war for you Americans. |
I believe those payments to the family members were pay-offs, as the government could be held reliable for the failing of national security and intelligence.
|
lol 2 B1 loads of ordance would pay the 2 mil for each of our soldiers lost so far. The Fed employees have pretty good life insurance plans usually but the other reg ppl in the wtc didn't in a lot of cases. It could be Dubya is trying to make up for not using the info they had on the attack coming the best way they should have.
But any which way they do it, there will be a bunch of folks complaining that they were screwed. Sorry to say its human nature. Just like the Ohioan that just was arrested and charged with saying his Dad was in the wtc... Meanwhile 'Daddy' is alive and well living in India. :BangBang: |

Well one reason they are handing out this cash is in order to keep lawsuits against the airlines involved from bankrupting them.
These people if they receive the money are waiving their rights to seek further damages in court. Either way the government would have to bail out the airline industry and probably felt this would be the cheaper route. |
