This movie will be huge, but not bigger than Star Wars. I cant wait to see it. :glugglug

JimmiDean 12-11-2005 07:12 AM

I have no interest in this film.
I remeber when with all the hype Godzilla was going to be a blockbuster.

xclusive 12-11-2005 07:13 AM

this is not a ripoff it's more of a story told right for the first time...

Yeah, but that movie wasnt made by the same guy who made the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

the first movie was way to short and the other remakes were half assed attempts to cash in on the name. Peter Jackson loveed the movie and wanted to make it right and I have all the faith in the world that is what will happen. Just wish they never lost that spider pit scene in the first one.

bringer 12-11-2005 07:47 AM

im sure it'll open huge but die of quicker than expected.

Vitasoy 12-11-2005 09:35 AM

I hope it lives up to expectations

Oh come on, everyone know Godzilla would suck when the first trailers came out... I don't think there was any hype left by opening day.

chadglni 12-11-2005 10:39 AM

I am 100% confident this movie is going to rock. I hate movies like this normally but this one seems different.

are you fucking serious? :1orglaugh

Godzilla is a monster movie.

King Kong is a love/rejection Beauty and the Beast story...that just happens to involve a monster.

fucking canadians.... :disgust

What Lucas Says Will Happen to King Kong.......

http://movies.go.com/jeannewolf?columnid=747923

"It will make $150 million the first weekend," George Lucas ? his appearance at this rival's big opening was generating lots of buzz ? told me and Jackson. Lucas wanted to come see for himself what Jackson had wrought in the remake of the legendary epic. "I'll just be watching him rake in all of the awards," George admitted. "Maybe not Best Picture ? that's a tough one ? but everything else."

He turned to Jackson, who was posing next to a small King Kong model, and said, "You couldn't have even made this 10 years ago. The effects are amazing ? but Peter, how did you get the ape to act?" Peter revealed his secret with a grin. "I owe it all to Andy Serkis." Andy, of course, brought Gollum to life in Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.

tristan_D 12-11-2005 07:42 PM

It will be shown in our area next week. I can't wait to see it. I like Jack Black playing the lead.

uno 12-11-2005 07:47 PM

Lucas wishes he had half the talent of Jackson.

reynold 12-11-2005 10:49 PM

Watching it this coming weekend I guess. :)

Yeh, comparing Lucas to Jackson is pretty odd. Lucas created a great story that people loved, but the movies really aren't that great. Jackson took an epic story and turned it into an epic movie, which he's doing again. Don't get me wrong, I like Star Wars just fine, but let's be honest about it...

I couldn't agree with you more, on all the points you make, Sly. Besides, I think after "King Kong," Jackson will be seen as 'the man.' Its one thing to take Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" and run with it, as that book is one of the most widely read ever, but to adapt an entirely new screenplay to KK......well if he pulls it off, and early word is looking like KK is sensational, this picture will also go over a billion dollars. So Jackson's last four movies would gross $4 Billion.........folks, no one else is even close to putting up numbers like that, not Spielberg, not Lucas, no one.

Slap Dot 12-11-2005 11:13 PM

I can't wait to see it.

Tricksy 12-11-2005 11:13 PM

I can't wait to see it! It's so nostalgic...

reed_4 12-11-2005 11:25 PM

I'm excited to see that film this coming christmas.

Kard63 12-11-2005 11:25 PM

It will not beat Harry potter in 3 weeks (the year is almost over ya know). I don't think it will beat potter even if you give it two months.

Sly 12-11-2005 11:31 PM

After a pretty slow year, the box office really has some great movies. I can't figure out which movie I want to see more between Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, and King Kong. There were a few other decent movies throughout the year (Star Wars) and a few great ones (Batman Begins), but man, this is a great way to wrap up 2005. The movie industry really needed this.

If adults would quit watching crap like Harry Potter there would be no contest.
