Why don't they claim that every accident was caused by them? Wouldn't that put more fear into everyone?

actually, it's because the bulk of them believe what they are doing is right. they wouldn't take credit for something they didn't do - its not "honorable". that seems laughable to us, but in their fucked up minds..
