Could I swing writing off a 3K DLP on my taxes?
It also functions as a computer monitor... :winkwink:
What kind of purchases do you write off? |
Anything that has to do with your business. So id say yes. But ask your accountant first.

If youre making 2k+ a month its worth getting one. He will save you more money than it costs to hire him. And yeah write it off as long as you can prove you use it for your work. |

Just that you have to ask this is all the proof i need :) And hire a good one. Not your uncle who loves to do it for 50 bucks. |

I have about $400 in bills each month. Everything else is profit. Why do I need someone to keep track of that? |

Dude the reason that you started this thread alone is enough reason to hire an accountant. Stop asking shit here that you and i cant answer. Thats what an accountant is for. Just believe me alright. For every 100 you spend on him he probably saves you 200. Now stop asking, were not accountants. You want to save money, hire one. |
What do you pay yours?

Dude stop asking stupid questions noone can answer. Call a frigging accountant tell him what you do and he will tell you how much it costs. This is gfy, were not accountants. |
Yeah, who would have thought you could get business advice or info on gfy.

By helping you saving 1000's? |
Accountant and a tax lady...even a tax attorney if necessary./.....he IS right....they will save you more than you spend on them....and if your office is out of your home.....you can write a ton off....such as heating and what not....
|
Dunno about your part of the world, but in mine we need to declare the proportion used for business.
If you're that worried about paying an accountant then go to a cheapie place like H&R. It's not the best but you'll probably still find some things that you wouldn't have thought of yourself. Their bill should be tax deductable. Remember you're not just claiming basic outgoing bills; you can probably also claim things like office expenses, conventions and business get togethers. |

Thanks for the info. |

Stop giving him advice. He doesnt want it or will get annoyed. |

Yeah youre so welcome. |
and yes ettiquette....you can give advice without being slightly offensive.....no one is crying just making blatant observations

Ahhh thats a good question. Let me help you with that. The best thing you could do in this case....is.... Tomorrow morning first thing, call an accountant and make an appointment with him and talk to him about this. |
actually a tax lady would be better for asking about write offs....not an accountant....an accountant COULD help you out....but the tax lady will help you more and save you more
|

Thats correct, get both. |
You can find a way to write off just about anything.
|
Accountants indeed save a ton, I've been able to write off things I never even imagined I could after hiring mine.:)
|
They also manage tax efficient investments and a whole load of other things.
