ok so my video card fan is fucked up
thats where this very very loud and annoying sound comes from right now, its like im sitting next to a fucking generator.
gotta replace it or something.. is this shit easy to do for someone who never did anything on repairing or putting new stuff in etc. (im not a geek who upgrades every week with the newest cards)? I only added an extra HD to this pc a year ago or so and it took me a day, i hated that job. |
Bump for one of my computer fans being loud sometimes too
|
Should just be a matter of a few screws and a plugin wire.
|
Just clean it.
They get loud when there's a shit load a dust build up around the fins. If cleaning does work then the bearings/bushings have gone bad. Just buy a new fan if so. |
hm now its pretty silent after two days of noise. I sprayed it with this alcohol computer cleaning stuff a few hours ago, maybe that took effect now.. i hope so, saves the time of replacing it :)
we'll see.. |
I had one do that and I just yanked the freaking card out. Was like 2 months old, piece of crap. Looked perfectly clean and new just like when I put it in. It had made a sound like my harddrive head were crashing.
|
well I guess you should try to clean your fan ... ?
|
nah it just spun faster for a period, when it spins normal its still the same loud ass noise.. i just cleaned it more and still the same shit so im gonna get a new one tomorrow..
|
hey I have the same problem on my other computer .. I resolved it by putting my tower horizontally instead of upright .. its kind of an annoying fix but it doesnt make a peep on its side.... i guess its rubbin against something, havent looked at it further than that ..
might want to try that |
Set it on fire and take pictures. :)
|
put a new one on it on the box it said it was ok for this exact type card, but it didnt fit very well.. so i improvised:
