Southwest has gone without a major crash in it's entire history. I wonder if this represents the first death to the airline as a result of an accident?

Midway in Chicago should be closed. Have you ever flown in there? About no room for error! A surprise there are no more accidents.

They got pretty lucky with Flt 1455 which was pretty similar to this incident (runway overshot).

They also had a death due to suffocation after a passenger was subdued during an in-air incident in 2000.
This is however their first accident related fatality.

Still a good record compared to other airlines. Wondering if they just pay more attention to safety? For most of the airlines history they only serviced one jey, the 737. So you'd expect them to have it together on that plane.

Or is this a statistical fluke and they are over due for more crashes??
