Proof that Red Bull is Addicting?!?

So I generally drink about 3 or 4 Redbulls a day, but today I was out. I hadn't been feeling well for most of the day, I had a headache, my stomach was upsett...just generally shitty feeling. I had some coffee and sodas throughout the day, tried to eat a little food, took some Ibuprofen and even had a friend give me a little head...massage that is...head massage. All to No avail. So I get up and go downstairs to have another smoke, search the downstairs fridge for a drink and low and behold I find a sneaky little can, hiding way in the back! So I grab my new best friend out of the fridge, walk outside, crack the lid and spark a smoke. Whithin 10 minutes of finishing the can....My Headache is GONE!! No more crappy attitude...and I feel much much better! So I ask you to judge, do you think Red bull is addicting? :Oh crap :helpme

Abithefiend 12-08-2005 03:53 PM

Well since caffeine is addictive I would say so yeah. I dunno if it's good for your system to drink that much on a daily basis though.

TroubleTonya 12-08-2005 03:56 PM

DUDE lay off the RED BULL you are going to go INSANE!! or drive me there ;)

caffeine withdrawal causes headache and dry mouth and general unease, even after just one day. Especially if you're used to huge amounts.

What are the symptoms of caffeine withdrawal?

Regular caffeine consumption reduces sensitivity to caffeine. When
caffeine intake is reduced, the body becomes oversensitive to
adenosine. In response to this oversensitiveness, blood pressure drops
dramatically, causing an excess of blood in the head (though not
necessarily on the brain), leading to a headache.

This headache, well known among coffee drinkers, usually lasts from
one to five days, and can be alleviated with analgesics such as
aspirin. It is also alleviated with caffeine intake (in fact several
analgesics contain caffeine dosages).

Often, people who are reducing caffeine intake report being irritable,
unable to work, nervous, restless, and feeling sleepy, as well as
having a headache. In extreme cases, nausea and vomiting has also been
reported.

Yes it is... I used to drink it daily, most days more than 1 can... if I missed a day I would feel the same way you were.... finally i decided no more redbulls and havent had one for over a month now... im a recovering redbulloholic.

DraX 12-08-2005 03:58 PM

you should cut down on those cans, not good for body and mind (in the long run) :2 cents:

topbuxbrad 12-08-2005 04:00 PM

Yeah, I totally get that caffeine can cause the headache and stuff, but figured that the coffee's and soda's would have sufficed for my caffeine addiction?

Just Mike 12-08-2005 04:01 PM

Addictive yes and tastes like crap unless you mix it with Vodka....mmmmm Vodka! grrrrrgggglllle

Fresh 12-08-2005 04:01 PM

3-4 fuckin cans a day??? damn man, thats a lot of caffeine. i can see how going from 4 cans to 0 can fuck up your day

RevSand 12-08-2005 04:01 PM

i agree... when I am working on a project I tend to go crazy with them for a few days to a week straight.. Then when I am done I will stop and it always takes me a day or two to "crash" from it... Combo if the caffine withdrawl and the long hours..

seeric 12-08-2005 04:02 PM

its the taurine in the redbull that gave you your headache, well i should say the lack of the taurine. once you get used to it and then stop, your body still wants it. its like crack that shit is.

TroubleTonya 12-08-2005 04:03 PM

NO NO mix red bull with yagermeister (in the green bottle) it tastes like cherry pixie sticks :)

Martin 12-08-2005 04:03 PM

If I even drink one coffey I feel shitty the whole day..

cherrylula 12-08-2005 04:07 PM

yeah its very addicting.

and its NOT the caffeine, its the taurine. Drink coffee and it won't replace the addiction. In fact, coffee has way more caffeine than redbull you can look it up.

only more redbull will work. :(

Trixxxia 12-08-2005 04:47 PM

At every convention I've been to, everyone's gotta have the Redbull - I had to try one and sorry folks but it tastes like crap. :) Give me my caffeine, thank you very much! Brad - lay off the RedBull!!

Oh Definately Coffee too...usually one or two cups at the house and then a Starbucks coffee on my way into the office.

ShotgunSammy 12-08-2005 04:57 PM

Red Bull and similiar drinks also have glucuronolactone which is a Vietnam War era stimulant; I'm sure it's responsible for some of those heinous effects

BIGTYMER 12-08-2005 04:58 PM

I drink one or two cans a day... I'm addicted.

LittleMack 12-08-2005 05:50 PM

RedBull and Vodka or Jager....woot woot

drjones 12-08-2005 06:00 PM

Stop with the Red Bull. Drink Monsters. Twice the drink same price! Personally I'm addicted to sparks.. energy malt beverage. No need to mix in the alcohol with your energy drink!

WillyFRESH 12-08-2005 06:01 PM

anything is addicting if you depend on it to function throughout the day :2 cents:

3M TA3 12-08-2005 06:06 PM

Dude, i'm with you on that. 2-4 cans a day for me, if i skip a day i feel like killing someone. It's a serious problem but one that i don't mind living with.

Best thing is in the morning? Burning a cigarette while drinking a Red Bull. mmmmm that gets me up in the morning.

No shit sherlock ? Anything that's un natural is addicting to a certain point ... even sugar. And redbull is REALLY unnatural so it GOTTA be fucking addicting.
