LOCATE file not viewable with DIR [pls help]
 

weird : Im locating a log file its there and when I go to the dir and type

dir -ls

its not there... any 2 cents? I need to see how big this .log file is...

ls -la
....

did that the file isnt there

and when I do locate FILE it is... weird :/

THERE :

[root@server domains]# locate dutchteengalleries.com.log
/var/log/httpd/domains/dutchteengalleries.com.log

NOT THERE :

check the error log...might find something useful :)

updatedb
-- to refresh the locate database and try it again - the file should be visible if it exists

gone in LOCATE now too :) so it was in the old dB.... thanks :thumbsup
