Killer back pain

Yet another sleepless night due to wicked back pain and spasms.

Compressed discs are such fun, aren't they?

Even the T3's ain't helpin' things :Oh crap

Back pain is the worst. I've dealt with it in the past. Is your's from an accident?

Check out this doctor's books if you're interested: John Sarno.

Does a heating pad help?

Young 12-08-2005 03:13 AM

Oxycodone.... :)

No accident. Degenerative arthritis that compressed the soft tissue between the discs. And too many heavy lifting jobs over the years.

It only flares up occasionally and sidelines me for a few days.

I've had it checked out by half a dozen chiros over the years...and there's not much they can do. Just gotta grin and bear it mostly.

Sounds like ya need to seek professional help there, for sure.

TurboAngel has back problems sometimes, but it sounds like you have a serious situation there.

:Oh crap

Sometimes, yeah. I just had a hot shower...that's helpin' a little at the moment.

My old man had a history of them, too. I seem to follow in his footsteps that way.

Nothin' like startin' the day by crawlin' outta bed on all fours, heh.

Try these to relax your back mucscles, especially at night:

Calcium
Magnesium bis-glycinate (absorbs best)
Massage

sniperwolf 12-08-2005 06:47 PM

experiencing that as well.. Doc sez it's bad posture... when we sit, stand and sleep.. and alot of stress..

..could have been worse to have Urinary tract infection.. or kidney problem,,,

Hope you get well soon...

It sucks when the pain killers don't work anymore :Oh crap

SilentKnight 12-08-2005 10:18 PM

Thanks to ya'll for the helpful advice and suggestions. Yeah, don't we know we're all gettin' to be old fogeys... :1orglaugh

Just gotta bite the bullet and get the back workin' again. Actually, earlier in the day I forced myself to work on a photoshoot in the studio - that seemed to help loosen it up a bit. And with the big snow on its way tonite, no doubt shovelin' the driveway may help, too.

Or kill me :winkwink:

Along with posture...I've had several chiro's tell me a lot has to do with ab muscles. Once the abs start to get soft, it often leads to more back problems.
